So this 7th grader that comedian Katt Williams got into a fight with during a soccer game is 17 years old.

Forget everything else, the real issue is how in the world does a 17 yr old come to be in the 7th grade?

I was graduated from High School and entering college at 17.

My cousin has a 6th grader performing at a college level on the standardized tests. His daughter has tested out of two grades of elementary school and will likely enter college at age 15 or 16. With online classes available she'll probably enter college with 30+ hours already on the books.

what goes on in these communities where people just discard kids and let them barely get by. In no society, especially in American society should a kid be that far behind and it not cause an uproar.

At the current rate, we'll probably elect that kid president if he doesn't end up in jail with a long sentence in the next year. I know Brooklyn is a fricked up place in some parts, but living in NYC with all the opportunities and resources there, there's no excuse to not have at least an average education level. There are so many programs and schools and non-profits and youth centers and free things for anyone in NYC to have advantages. None of those things replace having a loving father though.

After watching the wire I guess I assumed social promotion was the norm in inner city schools.

Kid could grow up to be a real estate mogul and candidate for president.

The dumber he is and more labels he has the bigger their check is. Until you stop making stuff like this profitable for leeches it won't stop

Probably has 1, no, or horrible parents. He's probably stupid enough to think doing bad things is cool. Probably thinks doing good things that will help him in life is lame as frick.

Must be the worst parents ever, because the vast majority of kids in similar situations are seniors in high school at that age.

Naw, I think most of us entered college at 17/18 depending on when your b-day was on the calendar.

Maybe this kid is the shining example of what happens when you're athletic but stop growing and D1 schools have zero interest in you.
