Ole Miss pro day was this morning.
not ideal but he plays faster. Would still be hard to take at 12 for me

I really like him as a prospect but that is not particularly impressive. He does play faster than that, I agree.
To me, WR, OG, and DT seem super deep in this draft with nice depth. DE seems pretty weak to me.

he just began his 2nd 40...
will report back when he finishes...................................................

Would really like it if Treadwell, Tunsil, Goff, Ramsey, Stanley, Wentz, Conklin, Hargreaves all went in the top 11.

Probably lost a tenth of second post injury

Not sure what "plays faster" means when it comes to a WR. He's big, has good hands, and can shield the DB, but at the end of the day he's a possession WR, not a deep threat. He'll be a good pro, but do you take him at #12? I can't see it.

Meh.
If he can rush the edge take him.

What did Landry run a couple of years ago? 4.65 I believe And I would take him on the Saints team anyday. And Treadwell is 3 inches taller. 12 is alil rich for him but who would you take over him? I like him more than any of the DT we have mocked to us. A position of need as well. I'm not sold on Coleman. DE would be nice but I don't see us reaching for Dodd or Ogbah at 12. If Lawson falls maybe. My point being the Forty time doesn't have much to do with his production at WR.

Nothing wrong with taking a possession receiver at 12. The guy is a beast and catches almost everything that comes his way. You don't draft him for his speed.

I listed
2 - QBs
1 - WR
3 - OTs
2 - CBs
this would leave 3 random spots remaining for Bosa, Bucker, and Jack to fill into...if anyone is passed we get a steal...if everything falls accordingly we can have our pick of Rankins, Lawson, or the mythical trade back.

quote:I think he ran over 4.7. That's why he went late in round 2. I like Landry too and wanted him over Baptiste. But Landry is a possession WR and they tend not to get drafted high in round 1. I like Treadwell in the 20's, but not at #12.

Sounds like Colston with the exception of draft position

Aaron Wilson ? ?@AaronWilson_NFL
Jarvis Landry dropped three to four passes today at LSU Pro Day, ran pair of 4.58s, rough day overall

I think it plays out very close to that.
Going to be a lot of options for us at 12 and in the second round as well. A lot of quality at safety, guard and WR in the second round.

You would be an idiot to take Landry at 12. That's what this discussion is about.

3 OTs might be a stretch, but there is the possibility of Elliot going top 11.

There are a lot of teams that need OL help and just like QB it is often a position that is reached for in the draft.
There are currently 4-5 OT's with 1st round or near 1st round grades. Usually once a run starts teams start pulling the trigger in the fog of war. There are only so many Top level OT's to go around.
Tunsil is already locked and signed in as the no.1 pick.
SD, Jax, SF, Philly, TB, Bal, and Chi could all use OL help. I can easily see 3 total going in the Top 11...not including a potential trade to grab one from the outside.

WR's can gain a step or steps via things like route running, breaking a jam, & body positioning.
Jerry Rice was a 4.60 Wr and we know how that ends.
Antonio Brown is a 4.58 WR an runs by everyone
