Ok, serious question

I know everybody is pissed off around here and all, but serious question: How will all of this coaching business, especially now with Pelini gone, affect the team? It seems to me that it's definitely in both Miles' and Pelini's interest to kick some major league arse in the SECCG tomorrow. For Pelini to jump start recruiting for Nebraska, for Miles to jumpt start recruiting for either Michigan or LSU. It's HUGE whether Miles leaves or not. Plus he's an emotional guy. He loves his players. He wants them to win desperately. Both he and Pelini (I can't call him "Bo") have an extremely high incentive to get the team focused and ready to play the game of their lives. But how will the players respond to all of this? Win one for the coaches? Or screw the coaches?
We're all rooting hard for LSU and a big blow out up here.

I personally think we'll beat the crap out of 'em. But no doubt this has been a distraction for the team. Can't imagine that it hasn't been. But I don't see this group mailing it in. They take pride in taking the field and wearing that uniform.

I think the long toll of the season and injuries will have a bigger effect than the coaching distraction. Whether we win or not... depends on our ability to compensate for all the injuries.

They play for LSU not Miles or Pellini.
Unless Tennessee finds a gear they haven't shown all year LSU will win.
I like Les and wished he would stay. LSU will be OK if he leaves. He would be a good fit at Michigan as well.
Many LSU fans never gave Les a chance and think he is stupid. I disagree. Les will never "be the man here". I am glad for him he is leaving. (Not glad for LSU) he did an outstanding job at LSU.

Don't want to highjack the thread... but yep, Michigan is lucky to be getting him. I just hope we don't look back in 4 years and wish we had never let him leave. But, I don't think it's really up to LSU. Can't blame the man for leaving... we'd all do the same if the tables were turned.

We will be fine and Les will be fine. I personally think Michigan needs Les more than we do. That statement will not have a retraction or an apology.
Les did LSU right. I wish him well.

You summed it up pretty well. IMO, there should be no hard feelings from LSU towards Miles. He hasn't done a great job but he hasn't derailed the program, either.
I'm fine with him staying, but I'd understand if he leaves. I just hope if he goes, LSU replaces him with a coach who can continue to win while sticking around for a while.

Miles told the players that he was leaving(UM) after practice yesterday.

The program will go on, for the things that he has done, I thank him and wish him well.

Same here. The only things I have been hearing is UM has looked for a coach trying to save money, HC and Asst. coaches. That LES may be forced to keep some of the coaches from Carr's staff. Knowing Carr and Les don't see eye to eye, this would not be good for UM or Les.

Miles wants to win this game just as much as anyone else on the team. He's put more into this team than anyone else and why would he want them to fall flat on their faces now, regardless of wheather he's the coach next yr?

Well, according to the FREEP article linked to in a couple of places on this board, he told them he hasn't had any contact from Michigan.

Les is a good man and served the Tigers well during his tenure. That being said, who volunteers to drive him to the ATL airport immediately so that we do not lose any more recruits because we are now a headless ship. I am over this Les Miles BS. This drama has no place in football. My wife watches this crap on soap operas. Good riddance to a man who does not share the same allegiance as Tiger fans. I would never go into battle with someone who just accepted a job with one of my enemies. And for all of those Tigers who think that Michigan is not one of our football enemies, remember this - Michigan almost played OSU instead of Florida in the title game last year.

Honestly, I don't think many people are "pissed" that Miles is going to Michigan (dream job) or Pelini is going to Nebraska (HC opportunity). Those that are "pissed" are "pissed" because WE HAVE ALREADY WITNESSED HOW THE TEAM WILL BE AFFECTED. The team was UNPREPARED, or UNDER-PREPARED in the last half of the season. IT'S NO BIG MYSTERY ANY LONGER... THEY WERE NOT THE FOCUS OF THEIR HC AND DC. Sucks for us, but we will be back in the hunt in the coming years.
