If true, I love it. I believe he can still be a weapon (even if numbers say otherwise from last year).

Solid special teamer and good receiving skills at a modest price.

I get we can clear some space without touching Brees' deal- But with Robertson, Hill and potentially Fairley, a Brees extension has to be close, right?

Either that or Loomis has been spending too much time on the Pelicans' side of the facility, and forgot that the NFL has a hard cap.

We're about to pay our #3 TE over $1 million this season.

This is utterly retarded. Why tie up all that money to our TE's when there are other holes to fill?

Smart.

Now CSP can draft a wide receiver with little to no backlash

Kinda agree here.

Assuming Fairley gets signed, a vet OG (Louis Vasquez, Stefan Wisniewski) would have really capped off a nice FA period. Maybe that's still possible; who knows how any of this is possible right now?

I'm not too surprised that they retained Hill, as he lead the team in ST tackles, offense runs a decent amount of 3 TE sets, and Payon has a huge boner for him. But, I really thought we'd let them have him.

Why are you people alway freaking out about small time money? People act like this is a big contract. Like we paid Mark Ingram a TON of money! Used up ALL our cap space!

Dude. We have a passing offense that heavily features the TE. Our TEs have 15 more receiving TDs over the last four seasons than the team with the 2nd most. This is a good depth signing. Our TE3, who is basically the direct backup, is signed for 3 years ~7 million, costing maybe 1 million this season. That is barely 1/100th of the CURRENT cap per season, and by the end of this contract the cap will be over 170 million, if not more.

This is chump change and easily worth the price. You guys always complain about depth. This is good depth.

Also: the guy is one of the best special teamers on the roster, which is important considering how bad they are. Gotta keep the good guys.

We will proabably run two tight ends often. Players do get hurt and you have to have a quality backup. Fleener will be used much like Graham was and Hill will be a valuable backup and special teamer.

I'll take it. If Fleener or Hooman went down we'd be down to no names. And he already knows the offense
