You guys keep forgetting the point of the draft. You don't draft on what someone can do now its what you think they can be in the future. If that was the case every #1 pick would be 23.
Where have I ever said or posted ANYTHING that indicates I am somehow ignoring projected future performance in my analysis of players?
If you are gonna keep playing the role of an idiot by misrepresenting peoples words to make your lazy rebuttals, you are going to find your perception from others as indistinguishable from an idiot.

I have to admit, I thought Poeltl would be a good pick at first. I spent the past hour and a half reading up on the draft profiles and watching some videos of the top 8 or so picks. Really hope we land Dunn. If he can fix his turnover rate he will be money in the NBA.

if we can get valentine late, he could be a serviceable guard for us.. he prolly won't be there though.

Interesting new mock from ESPN. I know a lot of people are worried that Minnesota might take Buddy off the board, but Chad Ford says they go big if they stay put.
There's more analysis from TBW at the link on what Chad Ford thinks the Pels big board looks like. LINK

I really hope we don't pick Hield I don't want another Eric Gordon. It's a cool usable skill set but it's not what we need. I think current Gordon athleticism is going to be where Hield will be at. It's pretty average but he doesn't have the tool to over come defending bigger guys.

If we pick hield when Dunn is available I'm gonna punch dell in his dick

It would probably be the smartest move he's made. Hield is such a Dell pick and I don't see why you would want that.

It isn't always about stats Booker and Lavine were back ups in college but great in the NBA. The NBA game just suits certain guys better.

Dunn is also only three months younger then Hield. So it can't be dismissed that at age 22 he still is pretty turnover prone and hasn't improved his jump shot or scoring efficiency a whole lot.

Probably, I do think Dunn will but a good player but he's so injury prone I'll pass on that alone. Guys are developed to play more to their strengths in the NBA. Rather in college the system is everything. So that could help translate them better. I would still choose him over Hield he has potential to be a true star in this leauge.

You actually think dell will be the GM?

trade down for an extra pick makes the most sense to me, barring a top 3 pick

You would've picked Rivers over Lillard because of age huh if given the choice?
Those 23 year olds are sometimes good NBA players. The 19-20 year olds strike out far more often than not. Unless they have can't miss potential, the 19-20 year okra are cross your fingers and hope they work type guys. There's a reason why the nba made it to where you need a year of college now. Too many owners were thinking like you: this guys is 17 and killing it in HS!! Future HoF talent!
Then he busts. Heild's floor is a serviceable NBA player. His ceiling is all star guard in a league LACKING GUARD PLAY!!!

Pels draft Hield and sign Batum.... I'd be a closet Pels fan then.
Who are you guys looking at for sleepers?

Moving to another Pro B club this season, Denain, which is on the border with Belgium, Cordinier has developed into one of the best players in the competition, averaging 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.3 steals and 1 block per-40 minutes, on terrific efficiency (65% TS%, 53% 3P%). He had one of his best games of the season with a number of NBA scouts in attendance, posting nine points, six rebounds, nine assists in 34 minutes in a win.
Cordinier is beloved by his head coach, Jean-Christophe Prat, who absolutely raves about his work ethic and intangibles, and is effusive in his belief that his young prodigy has a significant future ahead of himself at the highest levels of basketball. You don't often see a European head coach going out of his way to seek out NBA scouts and draft analysts in order to shower his young pupil with compliments, but that's exactly what happened in Denain. In a country that hasn't always done a great job of providing its young players with minutes, opportunity and development, it is refreshing to find a situation like this.

He only played 4 games his sophomore year so we'll throw the stats from that year out. He's improved his TO% each year since he was a Freshman
23.8%
22.6%
18.8%
For reference John Wall had 21.4% in his only year at Kentucky. Eric Bledsoe is someone I've heard some message boarders compare Dunn to, he had a 23.2% TO rate, although Bledsoe wasn't exactly a PG playing next to Wall. Also, Jrue Holiday was considered turnover prone in the league until last year. Just because he's not an 18 year old doesn't mean he can't get better at it. Turnover management is definitely a learnable skill.

poor shooting
His 3 point shooting has gone from 28.6% to 35.1% to 37.2% this year. That's not a great shooter, but that's not bad either. The troubling part of his shooting is really his 69.5% FT%.
47.7% on 2s isn't good, but hoop-math.com says he finishes at 62.6% at the rim this season, a huge improvement over the 45% DraftExpress mentions in their Weaknesses video on Dunn from last season.
He's still going to come in with holes in his game which is less than ideal for a 4 year player, but he has shown improvement in that time, and the things he needs to continue improving, Turnovers, FT% and 3P% are things that should be fixable.
