Miles did NOT tell the team that he was leaving

Miles told the team that he would not be leaving them before the bowl game.
Miles told team that he would talk to UM after the SEC CG, he owed his Alma Mater that.
LSU players interpreted that as meaning Les was going to leave. They might be right, prolly is going to happen, but he has NOT abandonned his job, he is still coaching.
That said, if he accepts the UM job it is likely that he will be relieved of his command before the bowl game.

Don't need one. The original post that started all this didn't have one either.

I am sure Miles hasn't already been in contact with UM.
Come on you don't go on an "official" interview unless you have all the details worked out.
Here is how this interview will go:
UM: Would you like to be the next head coach of Michigan?
Miles: Hell yes.
Done deal.

That's right, and then you too can have 32 pages of speculation.

There were callers on the sports talk raio shows in Houston 3-4 days back saying that the team had already been told (prior to the annoucement that UM had requested to speak to Miles) of Miles' intentions to meet with Michigan.
Look - I have no problem with a guy wanting to chase his dream job, but I do have a HUGE problem with the timing of this whole thing. We'll be hearing the claims for the next 20 years that Miles needed to leave for UM way before a BCSCG for recruiting and blew games so he could get out earlier. There will always be many who'll believe Les cost us the MNC. That's just the way it is. Whether you beleive that or not, its impossible to deny the bad timing.
Bottom line is that Les can't stay. If he doesn't get the UM job, he has a HUGE credibility problem with the LSU fans.

Thats not what the players are saying. Go read the 32 page thread. There are at least 6 different posters who said they heard this DIRECTLY from players. People such as Tigerbandpiccolo said she heard it from 2 different players. I heard directly from a player. These players didn't tell the posters "miles was talking to Michigan". They said "miles informed us at practice he was leaving". Now you can choose whether to believe all of these players misinterpreted Miles or not. I, and other posters in that thread, were just passing along what we were each told by different players.

He's saying that even if Miles said he wasn't leaving the team before the bowl game, LSU admin is the one that will make that call.

Yes chicken. I emailed you before I posted that I had just got the text from the players girlfriend. Before I decided to post I wanted to confirm it w/ the player so I called the player to hear it directly from him. He confirmed his girlfriend's text by saying "Miles told us at practice today that he was leaving".

If that is the case (which I doubt)I'm sure the player that told you appreciates you spreading locker room talk all over the board.

And what? You just made all this shite up off the top of your head?

I know the guy, he doesn't give a shite or I wouldn't have posted it. He posts on this board as well. Its not like its a huge secret now. You can't tell 85 people something and expect it to be keep quiet. Many players are telling friends before they leave for ATL, and half a dozen posters on this site have posted the same thing they heard directly from players.

easy to see that Miles told the team he is going to Michigan for an interview. They then tell people he told us that after the SECCG he is going to Michigan. Hell, we all know that. The mix-up is going to Michigan to interview is different than definately going for good. I do feel that Miles wouldn't go interview unless he knows the job is his.
