Glad the chains are doing this. I saw no less than 6 kids that age or younger at Deadpool. There is no way, shape, or form a kid that young should be in a movie like that. Better yet, the chains themselves are doing it, and the government is staying out of it.

Be interesting to see if they really enforce this. You think some 16 year old kid wants to deal with a family of 7 screaming at them and needing a refund?
All for the policy, just not sure how well it will be enforced.

Along with turning them away at the door, they should very nicely turn to the parents, smile, taze the frick out of them, and tell them how much they suck as a parent.

There shouldn't be a refund because the ticket should never be sold to begin with under this policy.

Online ticket sales could cause plenty of problems. They also probably need new software for their self ticketing machines at all of the theaters.
From the article, it appears this policy is already in place yet the online ticket sites do not list the policy or ask if the child is under 6 when purchasing a ticket.
I didn't actually purchase a ticket. Maybe the next screen would ask if the child was over/under.

Not far enough. Ban kids under 10 from seeing R movies. Can't think of an R rated movie I've seen with kids present that didn't at least somewhat ruin the experience.

I said people with tickets are going to be shrieking like harpies at 15 year old ticket takers. You think they will enforce this?
Evidently they don't because the article makes it sound like the big chains already do this yet people here are complaining about seeing kids in the theater. So unless they just kicked this off, it is pretty clear it isn't being enforced.

I was just kidding. Kids don't typically have id's or drivers licenses at the age of 6 or under.
They usually get them around 16 or so.

Who in the hell brings a kid that young to a movie anyway?

Enact this policy and they'll all have fake I.D.'s.
"Okay kid, if this is really your I.D., what year were you born."
"Ummmmmm... Summer?

Well the policy isn't going to work at all in any Regal or AMC theaters...unless those companies actually go back to having theater ushers in each theater.
Everything is accessible, you pay for one movie go see another...no one is stopping kids or parents. All these multiplexes, once you pay, you can ride the escalator to any damn movie you want.
We used to have a theater growing up...the R-rated movie was on one side...and the PG movie was on the other...and paying outside, you went inside either left or right and the concession stand blocked and separated the two different screens.
That's what you'd need now to keep little kids out of R movies.

Shouldn't anyone under 16 be banned from R-Rated movies anyway?

Rated R movies mean Restricted, with no one under 17 admitted without an accompanying parent or guardian.

Morons who think that it's fine to bring little kids and babies to grown arse adult movies should never be allowed to buy movie tickets.
Wrong on infants used to take my son all the time when he was really little (like when he was in the baby carrier and slept all the time), never had him watch, hell he was tiny. As soon as he got old enough to move around or actually watch anything then no more non kid movies. I agree on toddlers and other young kids.
