I have more weeds than grass in my yard right now . I put down some weed and feed about a week ago . I'm looking for some ideas on how to get my grass looking better . I have a lot of crab grass in my yard also . What should I spray to kill the weeds and crab grass ? should I throw some grass seed also ?

What type of grass do you have?

Your grass will choke out most weeds when starts growing,

2-4D spot spray on a windless day. Centipede will choke it out, but you can help it.

Man it's awesome. Put it out twice every spring. Just did the first run and shits dying. Grass come out nice.
Put it out below or around 70°. Don't put out in the damn summer. Too hot. Last two seasons my yard looked jam up!

I would spray the whole thing with 2-4D...don't get it on anything but the grass and weeds, though.
I have centipede and I don't think it grows fast enough to effectively choke out weeds in poor soil...I would sprig in some st Augustine and keep it watered well...

I have bluegrass patches all over and I can't get rid of it. That shite is miserable.

I'm in the same boat. We had a bad fire ant problem thanks to our neighbors. They killed some of my yard and getting rid of them took care of most of the rest. Weeds took their place before we got grass growing and now we're left with a weed haven. I'm thinking about starting over, but if any of this stuff would work, I'd rather avoid killing everything. How would I know when it's time to give up on it?

Try Scott's Halt Crabgrass preventer. You can put it out in the next week or so before it warms up, but it is a pre-emergent meaning it doesn't help once the crabgrass is up. If you are in Louisiana it may be too late but it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and put it out and see if it helps this summer.

spot treatment with round up is all that you can do now
I told myself that I was going to put down pre emergent this year to stop the crab grass, but it was so goddamn warm the crab grass beat me

For real? It's too late?
Surely they make something to kill crabgrass without killing the lawn around it?
