re: Outside the top 4 in the draft who are the top 5 guys you want for this team?

Luwawu is 6'7 205 pounds with a 7'2 wingspan at 19-20 years old. Larger wingspans = ability to put on weight easily as that usually means broad shoulders. See Dwight, AD, Giannis.
Video of his strengths
Weaknesses
In comparison, Batum is 6'8 200 pounds, Kawhi is 6'7 229, Deng is 6'9 220, Giannis is 6'11 216, PG13 and Jimmy both weight 220 pounds. It is not unfeasable for him to gain 10-15 pounds easily with NBA nutritionists and training.
Point blank he could make his size work in the NBA easily right now as a rookie, and he also will continue to grow with that wingspan
He has the wingspan, yes, but he also has a small frame. Which limits the size he can pack on. It is the difference between a guy like Antony Davis and Nerlens Noel.
Davis was praised because while he is skinny he has the frame to pack on a ton of muscle and remain athletic, Noel is more limited due to his frame. Now Luwawu isnt being knocked on that level but he is a good bit undersized as of now.
He is 20 going on 21 in a little over a month.
Larger wingspans don't necessarily mean you can put on weight easily. And as my point was about, we are talking about the "strength" of a guy being a plus for this guy and somehow a negative for Hield while Hield is 20 pounds heavier(lean I might add) at a position that doesnt need as much size as the one Luwawu would be playing.
But again, my point isnt to say Luwawu CAN'T or won't add enough size, it is just pushing back against this hypocritical analysis some have engaged in.

teams don't respect us offensively, they just have to triple AD and we can't do shite

That more do to Gentry not start Jrue and Ryan and everyone else being hurt. A team with Jrue/Reke/Q/Ad would not get doubled but it stead he plays with Cole/Gee/Dante/Asik so let's not get that confused. We've never been a good defensive team so don't start to act like we are. GSW is a team that is so good because they have elite defenders at every position along with being capable offensive players. No one outside of Curry is an all star level offensive player.

Lol. Klay Thompson? Draymond Green?
That team is offensive centric, first and foremost. Their defense is helped tremendously by playing ahead so often. Couple that with a team full of long and willing defenders who actually buy into a scheme and ya, they are trouble on defense

Dray is not a scorer and klay is inconsistent

Is Dunn the consensus here? Let's get Dunn, yes yes?

More to offense then scoring. More to being an allstar then offense. Otherwise how did Rondo get into allstar games??
Also both are pretty consistent.
Both are just selflessly working around the star of their teams game. I would bet both guys on another quality team where they would be more of a focus would excel just fine.

Green is in the top 30 in the NBA in offensive rating Not to mention he leads the league in triple doubles
Thompson averages 22 per game and is going for 4 straight years of 40%+ from 500+ 3PA
I mean, come on

I wouldn't mind getting one of those international SF but I think there is a better chance of us trading the pick then drafting a project

I'd like to see Wayne Selden or Perry Ellis from Kansas get taken in a mid round. They're polished ball players and great contributors to their team.

Yep they're both nice players
I actually think this 2nd round is pretty deep

Murray - 78 FT%
Hield - 89%
Valentine - 84%
Brown - 65%
Demetrius Jackson - 79%
Diamond Stone
LeVert - 79%
I don't know enough about Dunn (70%) to form an opinion.
I'd really love to take one of Murray or Hield with our first pick and then try to trade into the mid-first and grab Valentine, Jackson, Stone, or LeVert if they happen to be there.
I've been reading that FT% in college is a good indicator (and typically better than college 3PT%) of a player's 3PT shooting in the NBA. So that's something I've been observing.

56-6 says otherwise.
Poeltl from Utah is a beast. If we are still running Gentry's offense next season, this is the guy we need at center:
From NBADraft.net:
quote:
Strengths: There are not many 7' footers who can run the floor like he does ... He gets up and down the court very well, giving strong effort on every possession ... Often gets himself open just by out-hustling opposing bigmen ... He has an long, agile, and strong body, and enjoys contact and doesn’t back down from it ... His skill level is still very raw but he has big, soft hands, and knows how to use his large frame to get deep post position and present good angles ... Shows the ability to finish with both hands, and his soft touch gives his offensive game some real intrigue ... His ability to finish around the rim allowed him to shoot with very high efficiency numbers from the field this year ... Another very intriguing aspect of his skillset is how well he moves his feet on defense ... He shows great coordination and can really show hard on the pick and roll without getting beat easily by guards ... He plays really hard every minute on the floor, has a good motor and seems to understand his limitations ... Needs to add some strength, but has an excellent frame to carry weight ...
If we are talking someone very NBA ready, I'd be down with Buddy Hield, especially if we let EG walk.

What's the odds that they keep either second round pick

I would love to get Jamal Murray or Hield at 6 or 7

Murray is probably my 3rd pick behind Poeltl and Hield.
Assuming he goes in the second round, I wouldn't mind getting Ulis. Decent jump shot and a good passer for a guy his size. Would fit well as our backup PG/PG depth behind Jrue and Cole.

I expect them to use at least one of the picks unless they're packaged in a trade. Demps has made more 2nd round picks than 1st. Darius Miller, Jeff Withey (traded for him soon after draft), Pierre Jackson, Russ Smith.

What happened to these guys? Still in the D-league?
From a quick google search it appears they still are just wondering if they ever made an NBA appearance. And it looks like Darius Miller is playing in Germany now
