Wow. They can suck it out of the lake pretty quick though.

definitely going to be a major test of that structure. I wonder how much scouring that turbulent flow is creating?

More than likely a good bit. I know I wouldn't want to be sucked through that thing right now

Toledo-bend.com doesn't show the level either. Just that the gates are open 22 feet.

Still confident in a good shallow bite with all the new water?

I don't know that's A LOT of water. But hey, the fish gotta eat still. Like someone else said, they're gonna be on pines and hickorys instead of cypress!

My partner is going to try some deep stuff in the morning. If that doesn't pan out, we're just going to wing it shallow.

Well usually when the water gets high and muddy the fish move shallow.

Toledo Bend Reservoir, operated by the Sabine River Authority of Texas and the Sabine River Authority, State of Louisiana reached a record level high of 174.36 feet mean sea level (msl) at 6:00 a.m. this morning due to the rainfall event. The current gauge reading is 174.20 feet msl at 3:00 p.m. today. Toledo Bend Reservoir is not a flood control reservoir and reaches full pool at 172.0 feet msl. Spillway gate releases, which protect the integrity of the dam, have reached a record of 207,644 cubic feet per second (cfs) which is 90,000 cfs over the previous record set in 1989. Currently 9 gates are open 22 feet and 1 generator is running 24 hours/day. There is no truth to the rumors that the Toledo Bend dam could break due to the record releases. The integrity of the dam is intact and is operating as designed.

Need to be fishing the green grass in peoples yards. Even better if there is drop off on the edge of the grass. Should be able to kill them! A lot of the back water creeks you will not be able to reach the fish.

If you can find a few current hole may be bale to catch them on crank baits.

a D-Bomb

What I've been doing most of my damage on up there! Love those and the baby D-Bombs. The fish had so much pressure on them last weekend, seemed like everybody was flipping bushes. Started going behind people and getting bit on the Baby D-Bomb with a little smaller weight.
