Looking at Snapper and Honda and want self propelled.

You'll be set if you get anything with a good sized Honda motor and the features you want. I have a Lowe's Husqvarna with a Honda engine. It sat up for almost 2 years and cranked on the first pull when I took it out of storage.

Husqvarna Mower w/ a Honda Engine
That's the self-propelled version... for a little more you can get an AWD version. I just got the push-version of the same mower, but I don't have a huge yard. Starts on the first pull every time.

Honda with the dual blades. Mulches everything to dust. Utterly amazing. Got a big pile of leaves? Run though it a couple of times and you now have a very fine mulch.
Always starts on the first pull. The non-metallic deck won't rust and lowers the mower weight to well less than the competitors so it's easy to maneuver.
I studied specs for a long time before I bought mine. It was the right choice.

Can't go wrong with either one. Have had both.
Also buy local, not from big box store. Service wise will be there to help you out.

I really like my Honda self propel. The Honda engine is top notch. I don't know much about the Honda engine on a Husqvarna, but I imagine that is solid as well.

I'm currently on my 3rd Honda push mower. The first one I bought was a beast. The second was pretty good but this last one is a pig. It starts easily and runs well but is severely underpowered due primarily to the government mandated emissions controls.
I also have a commercial grade Gravely push mower. It makes plenty of power but it weighs in at 88 lbs. It definitely gets the job done but will work your arse off in the process.

Honda would be my first choice. Be sure to pay careful attention to the deck as well. I've seen engines outlast the mower deck.
Personally, I have whatever the guy who cuts my lawn uses, Think it's a gravely.

why the hell are you people downvoting a 56 volt lithium powered cutting beast of a machine?
You baws must love your clogged up carbs after sitting all winter.

Looking at Snapper and Honda
Either are great. I have an old snapper that my FIL gave me when I moved into my house. Thing still works like a charm. A lot of my co-workers have Honda's and they love them. They're expensive but last forever.

Have the Troy w/Honda engine push mower from Lowes. Thing is a machine. Mixed my gas with fuel stabilizer and have left it in the mower for years and the little thing fires up right away everytime

I've had the same Toro since 2003. Best $300 I ever spent, and they're about the same price now.
