If there is a reason he's not coming to LSU Augusta isn't it.

I don't think Spurrier is the best hire, but I am bringing myself to expect that this will be the deal come next week.

I tend to agree with this. I thought Spurrier took the safe bet in a return to college through South Carolina, where winning the SEC east is the equivlent of winning a NC.

The only disagreement I see is that SPurrier like all coaches have huge egos, and his was bruised, but now may be hungry for one last run. And what better place to do it than LSU?

Which is why he was on campus yesterday and was flown back to Colombia on a member of the B.O.S./TAF donor's private jet?

Please know what you're talking about when making this type of statement.

I think he's down on the list for LSU, but also I do not think he has an Augusta membership - he just can play any time he wants with the friends he has.

Goat, you hit it on the head. He's realized that the talent there will basically put him on par with Arkansas in the east. Spurrier wants to DOMINATE the SEC again and win another NC. He wants to have the weapons to march into Gainsville, blow Florida off the field in embarrasing fashion, and give them that little smirk as he exits the field. We is one cocky SOB and wants to get the team together which will give him that little extra swagger. Coaches like Spurrier don't "pasture" well and he's really too young to hang it up. I think he's got more to offer with the right staff.

Nope, full member. Hootie Johnson is a USC alum and got him membership before he retired as Augusta National president. Lou Holtz got the same deal.

i don't think spurrier is the best hire either despite me thinking is he is probably one of the best coaches in college football. He is on the back half of his career, and I would take a tubbs or del rio over spurrier mainly because of his age.

First, I dont think he has a full membership at Augusta. Second, you can only play at Augusta for about 6-7 months a year. In that time, it is not one of the greatest courses to play. It is still great but not the greatest. Third, it is a done deal he coming.
