I just want him removed as head coach. I'm all for letting this guy recruit though.

On this site?

You know there will be dumbasses who will defend the worst coaches imaginable as long as they get paid to have that LSU logo on their chest.

I'm sure there would have been some who defended Dinardo's stubborn arse.

I'm not a JJ fan and never have been. But who you gonna attract at LSU that will take us to the next level? Brady got us to the Final Four and the fans hated him. We aren't a basketball school and never will be a top 25 program. It's rare to get a guy who can recruit and coach at an elite level. You got one in JJ who can do half of that. The next guy may not be able to do that.

Never mind I still want him gone.

I support Coach Jones, and don't care if you laugh.

I want him, like every other LSU coach, to be successful every year, and then retire on his or her own terms. To me that is what is best for LSU.

That means you don't immediately fire the coach if they lose a game, or even have a season that is not as good as we all would like.

There are great coaches who have had down seasons. Merely because they had a down season doesn't mean they are not a great coach.

Keep your head up, Coach Jones, and continue to do your best.

I'm not a fan, but next year determines his future in my opinion. He's coming off an NCAA Tourney berth.

You need to check-in with former Coach Dale Brown at one of his BBQs, and you will get your answer immediately. All we are doing on the Rant is venting and guessing about this situation. Daddy Dale will give his final definitive answer on this matter.

Coach Johnny Jones will be around next year for sure.

It's not JJ's fault we hired him. I would have taken the job, too. Football and basketball programs are viewed as dumpster fires, nationally. All Alleva delivers is hype. True, he sells tickets and that's all the matters in the current SEC template. The suckers keep coming. No trophies, no dancing, no nothing but bad optics. One common denominator, the AD.

There is absolutely no benefit in firing Johnny Jones midseason. Let this season play out and test the waters as to who you might be able to get before firing him.

I'd put it this way, I'm not writing angry e-mails to fire Johnny but were it to happen I would not be writing angry e-mails in protest.

But it ain't happening this year so the point is moot.

Well you want facts? How about we were in last place in the SEC and now we are in 2nd. place? How about we were having to start walk ons and now we have good players at every position. He has a better winning percentage so far than John Brady. He took us to the NCAA tournamnet in his third year which is better than ANY other LSU coach.

Is he a perfect, great coach? NO, but he is a good coach for LSU. Replace him and you will see the team take an immediate nose dive as we probably get another Trent who had a great resume that was undeserved.

It's too hard to defend CJJ anymore. LSU barely made the tournament last year with a pretty good roster and this year likely won't make it with the #1 draft pick and a decent supporting cast.
