Will LSU Baseball Have a Winning Record This Year?

Can we get to 30 wins?
I didn't see the game last night, but judging by the reaction on the Rant to ONE BASEBALL GAME THAT WE WON it appears that the season is over. Oh well. On to Track and Field, I guess.
[This is all sarcasm, by the way. I cannot believe the negativity here regarding every LSU sport all of the time]

we might think we are bad but there is a reason we are ranked 5th in the nation. Might be inflated but LSU's bad years = most teams great years

Then you're not paying attention. This place is the worst. Delusions, ignorance, and negativity abound.

Actually I think the rant is handling it pretty well. I expected a lot more negative threads this morning. I think even the average fan realizes we will have some growing pains this year regarding the bats

yea. one game, in all likelihood, reveals very little. certainly we are going to struggle at the plate. we have eight new players.
we will most definitely have a winning record but I seriously doubt we will challenge for the SEC this year (even with very good pitching).

Only ways to please nearly everyone
1 win every game in blowout fashion
2 do it with style (basketball dunkfest, baseball home runs, football 700 yards of offense, 125 given up on D)
3 acknowledge fans as the reason every sport is dominating.
4 reduce the price of tickets
5 free parking on campus during football season
6 get every top recruit that is offered for every sport
7 force all people to stay in stands till the end of the game
Not that hard when you think about it

I'd say we end up getting between 40-45 wins. With the all the position players we lost from last year, I would say this would be a successful season.

One problem is the non-baseball fans on here who want to compare it to football, i.e. , you must win every game convincingly. Doesn't work that way in baseball. I remember many years where we struggled early against mediocre competition only to win a natty. Chill people.

Regular season? I highly doubt we hit 40 wins. But yes they will have a winning record
Posted on 2/20/16 at 9:46 am to josh336
Yeah 40 wins. I'd say 40 wins will probably be the realistic mark. Our pitching we have will help us win a lot of the series by itself

I can see mid-upper 40s, with a possible regional host.
I believe we are too young on offense, unless we get some more JUCO guys in the lineup consistently. I believe our experienced JUCO guys can hold push us along offensively until the freshmen and less-experienced sophomores can get it together. Loved Bryce's swing last night even off the end of the bat he had some arse on it, and Romero's goes without saying, guy has clutch written on his forehead after last night.
We need these position players to get their bats in gear. Cinci is not a pitching powerhouse this year even their friday guy. Guaranteed it was just one night, and has no reflection on the year or even this afternoon. But we will be facing some SERIOUS SEC pitchers, and we need offense desperately to make any run this year. Which is why I just don't see it happening much past regionals, if that.
All in all, I think Bryce and Romero will need to be playing some more even though Bryce didn't get a hit, his power is well known and was expressed with an end of the bat slam to left.

Good question to ask. Because LSU baseball consistently has down years with losing records. Even on a down year they will win 40 or close to it.

open admission to anything will always give a variety, and some ignorance and dumbassery. I actually find it more interesting than like-minded sheep....but that's just me.
