For my two year old to sleep through the night.
Since Christmas, he has woken up at least once every night making demands and throwing ridiculous tantrums if they aren't met. It's a fricking terrorist situation at 2am every night.

oh yeah
and I'll be thrilled if I don't hear "do we really have to watch basketball tonight?"

Mine tried that, then she realized that we were coming get her and she decided sleep was a better idea.
She caught a few arse whoopins and got ignored for over an hour a few times and then got the message. Went back to sleeping through the night in a week.

Water...new pull up..."the other blanket"...the hallway light...honey (he gets honey for a cough sometimes)..."I want something"
I'm real close to locking him in his room, but the wife is against that tactic for now. I'll give him a sip of water if he wakes up and asks for it, but nothing else. It then turns into a tantrum. Then we negotiate and he gets back in bed.
I should also mention that the two times my wife got as sick of it as I've been, it's turned out that he was sick. Once was an upset stomach that led to a little bit of diarrhea and the other was a nasty cold that gave him a fever.

Lock him in there. Give him an extra 15 minutes before you go get him every time. Eventually it'll be an hour+. He will realize the jig is up and go back to sleep.
If he is sick he won't stop. If he goes 1.5 hours and doesn't let up, go get him.

Beer and not being interrupted while I relax.

For my plane to be on time, I land at 5:30, meet a buddy at the bar and watch the Tigers beat SC's arse. Which was my plan until I got notified of this 2.5 hour mechanical delay. Fml
