You have to many libtards as friends. They are to busy passing judgment onto others.
It is ok to eat bass as long as you meet the size limit and total number limit,

OP is getting crushed, but for opposite reasons when he posted on FB. He can't catch a break.

Is eatin' them not the point of catching them? If they're so damn worried about the bass population, maybe they should only catch what they eat. I'll guarantee they kill more with catch and release than you did with your fish fry.

Don't worry - The OP (me) is an old school redneck from North La, these internet jackholes make me laugh.
I would have thrown all the bass back but I drove 4 hrs, spent about $150 on gas , baits, food etc etc. So kept everyone I caught and they were damn good :) no worries.
And I have a facebook

I would knock on he heads off of every one I caught from now on. Bunch of cry babies.

I never keep anything over 3 lbs, during spring I try to just keep the males. There is no reason to keep big fish to fillet unless you are not that good at catching them.
I like a mess of fish as much as anyone but I also understand that the number of fishermen are increasing and if everyone keeps those big fish the lake will suffer.
There is no doubt in my mind that D'Arbonne has been hurt because of over fishing when the lake is drawn down.
A lake the size of Toledo it doesn't hurt the lake as bad because of all the big, deep water.

Don't like keeping them over 4 pounds even at Toledo. They just don't taste as good.
My buddy is an old coonass and sometimes it's a fight get him to let bigger ones go.
If I catch them, I release the big ones everytime.

Me either. But I'm actually closer to 3. The 1-2 lb'ers are the best filets.
Both extreme ends of the argument are total dick bags. It's not hard to be a level headed, logical fisherman that ethically takes fish while also being cognizant of the role conservation plays on our fisheries.

We keep a few small one's under 3 lbs to eat from time to time but not many. Really would rather bream and white perch for table fare

I fished with Dion Hibdon in the 2000 Top 150... He said he eats bass all the time... He had nothing against keeping smaller fish...
I actually like bass better than speckle trout...

My brother went to Toledo bend yesterday and fished out of our pathfinder bay boat, tore the fish absolutely up, and kept a frick pile of them. He said there were endless rustled jimmies at the launch. But he's all of 6' 3" and 220 so he just smiles at them.

Keeping fish is not a problem. Keeping fish that weigh 5+ pounds is a problem. nothing good comes from keeping those bigger fish.
