how often are you going to be using them and what are you going to be doing? if your looking for something for occasional home repair a cheaper ryobi 12v set with a drill and saw will do fine. if your looking at something that will be used regularly, you might take a step up to the nicer dewalt or milwakee 18v sets.

I don't give a frick if he knows me or not. To make a comment like that is complete bullshite. If he is man enough, he can meet me anywhere he wants with whoever he wants and he can make that comment to my face. I have zero time for asshats like him.
But but but ya'll made friends...

Depends on what your needs are, but whatever you buy get the lithium ion batteries because they last longer and charge quicker than the nickel cadmium.

If you are looking for a good set of cordless, Milwaukee is the best and the best guarantee. Then Makita. Dewalt cordless is good, but the batteries have a short lifespan. I have had the same Makita drill/impact combo for 7 years and have only replaced the batteries once. I use them almost every day.

Also, if you are looking for a good deal, go on eBay and look up toolioking (sp??)
He has a store somewhere in Canada and usually has drill sets as much as 40% off of home depot's retail price. I've bought a ton of cordless Makita tools from him. That are all new in the box with no issues
