Which Bank Do You Use?
Chase.
quote:
Are you happy with them?
Yes. Been with them for a couple of years. I love technology, and they are on top of it with their online banking and apps with their smart phones.
quote:
How convenient are the locations in the BR area?
Can't answer that. I use plastic for everything, and if I do have to deposit a check, I use the Chase mobile app to make the deposit.
quote:
How easy is it to find an atm ?
Every single Walgreens in the BR area has a Chase ATM inside. I don't utilize ATM's, because I despise carrying cash and coins. Debit card for everything.

I got a 15 yr 2.99% mortgage with Cap1. Sorry they didn't work out.

Anyone who complains these days about checking account fees is too clueless or poor to have a bank account.
Believe me I know, I've been in the biz for 20 years.

I like Ally bank. It's an online bank with no brick and mortar locations.
They have:
I like Ally Bank. They offer:
free checking,
no fees,
they print your checks for free,
they refund any ATM fees from any ATM you use,
they have 24 hour customer service by phone,
they pay interest on checking accts.
etc.
I love them and have never had any issues with them. My paychecks, income, dividends, etc are all deposited in their bank electronically

My friend's bf uses Ally as well.
He loved it.....until he lost his debit card. With no physical locations he had no way of getting cash from his account until another card was mailed to him. And.....customer service wouldn't overnight a new card to him....had to wait for standard mail.

This ground breaking info.
What national or regional bank doesn't have these features and benefits today?

I have used Hancock my entire short life.

I use Ally as well simply because national banks' interest rates suck and that's what I told Regions when I closed my account with them.

Regions, never had a problem... used Chase before and felt the fees were too much

You really showed that banker, who has 0 control over interest rates

They asked why I was closing my account. I never said they had control over interest rates.

If possible I avoid using the West Bank
The West Bank is much better since they cut their fee by a dollar

I use neighbors for my main checking account. No complaints.

I've been with Chase since college. I was with capital one but ran into a huge problem.
Got a student loan balance check from LSU. Deposited check. Next day Check posted and showed the full funds available on my account. Paid for books and other school stuff. Wake up next morning and stop by bank on my way to campus, no funds available, check gone.
Cap 1 had put a "hold" on the check for 14 days to ensure the funds cleared. Check was from Louisiana State University. Check was a Capital 1 check (at the time cap 1 was LSUs bank). Could not convince the manager or teller how stupid this was.
My mom ended up having to go to the branch back home and talking to the bank manager to get it resolved. They waived the nsf fees.
Cleared out my account the next day and have been with Chase ever since.
