However if Dawson and Krob can't keep it around .270 I think they should give someone else a chance.
I will be extremely happy if either of those guys hits close to .270

Hitting can be tricky because you need the reps, but if either one of these guys slump at the plate I don't see why PM wouldn't give someone else a shot.
PM has proven he will take defense over hitting. Both Austin Nola and Andrew Stevenson were hitting at or below the Mendoza line and he kept them in. They only way we see one of them pulled for their bat is if we have a Foster like performance from someone where the additional batting outweighs the lost defense.

Well Mainieri has always used 1B as pretty much a 2nd DH position. Take our next best hitter not in the lineup and teach them to play 1B. And Sciv was a better catcher than Moore

I'm not against it at all. It's a pretty typical approach.
quote:In 2014, I disagree. But he was doing it at 1B too. Sciv playing there cost us at least 1 game (Tennessee).

Yeah, that would be great.

At or above the Mendoza line
I had to google that one
But no way I think they can get away with hitting .200
Maybe .250

consistently above average defense seems more paramount this year than in recent past. I think by the time conference play rolls around we'll be pretty slick. Im a huge fan of plugging a true athlete in a 1st base as well. if Adams is up to snuff, let him DH. you can hide a lot over there, but you can also expose other clubs short game

while we're waiting.
Looking at the schedule, i see 2 games against Fordham on Saturday 3/05. one at 2pm, one at 6:30pm. Are they playing a DH Saturday and no Sunday game?
