I have a 4yr old and a 3yr old and my wife is wanting to put them in private school this coming year. I think it is unnecessary at that age in St Tammany. She is from the southshore so naturally she disagrees. I took a massive pay-cut to switch to a different job and I think financially we shouldn't do it. However, my girls come first and if the public schools are bad then private it will be.

The public schools for some areas of the City of Covington are off the list.

Madisonville and Mandeville and the right areas of Covington are doable if money is the issue.

public man, thats why we live up there. no reason at all to go to private school in that area. best public schools in the state generally speaking.

eta: i dont know anything about covington schools, but I grew up and lived most of my life in mandeville, and also live there now. my son will be going to public school in a few years just like i did

The Mandeville school district on the Hwy 1088 corridor is probably the best public school district in Mandeville. Marigny elementary for K-1, Lake Harbor for 2-4, Mandeville middle for 5-6, Monteleone Jr for 7-8 and Lakeshore High to finish it out. My 6 yr old is at Marigny now and we love it.

Some really good schools in those areas. You need to be more specific.

My kids are at Woodlake and Mandeville Middle and we love it. We moved to the area three years ago from Hammond just b/c of the public school system in Mandeville. They give out a shite ton of homework and it was quite an adjustment from Hammond schools, but my kids adjusted well. I'm glad we made the move.

As high the taxes are and as good as most of the public schools are in Mandeville, there's no need to spend the extra money for private schools.

I have one in Fontainbleau high, Fontainbleau Jr. High and Mandeville middle (and an older son who already graduated from LSU).

These schools are fantastic IF your kids are in the advanced classes. Fontainbleau High actually has 38 (!!) classes that offer college credit. Very diverse.

I don't know about the elementary and middle schools but don't send your kids to CHS.

Lithette #1 went to SSA and #2 and #3 went to Mandeville High. Total ACT 100, all got TOPS, Private school was a waste for High school. Christ Espicopal was great for elementry and Jr High

Just move to the south shore if you're too stupid to take advantage of the public schools you're already paying for through taxes

Wen to ponchatrain, tchefunte, and then mandeville junior. Had a good experience at public schools. Then switched to St. Paul's, had a better time at private school. Although going to the public schools was a good experience
