Someone and Ish Smith.... He also plays for the garbage arse 76ers. Y'all need to stop with the ish-sessiveness my lord.

I used basketball reference stats at the time of my post. Guess they hadn't updated to reflect the MLK games. And FWIW, the stats you posted aren't correct either. Jrue is at 43.9% fg the same as his career fg % and you also underinflated a few of Ish's stats. It will balance back out. Ish won't go 8-28, 0-6 from downtown very often. Jrue probably go 9-13 very often either. Point is they both give you very similar production, but one is paid league minimum and the other makes 11 million. Jrue is a better 3 point shooter and Ish is a better facilitator. Everything else is pretty much exactly the same. I like Jrue fine, but I don't think he's a future second or 3rd star on a contender. He's much closer to being Ish Smith than he is to being Russell Westbrook.

My guess is Vasquez.
That is correct.
See how stupid stats can be sometimes.
While i liked General Greivis, that was the only year he started most of the games in a year, and he did pretty good, but he's not a PG that you put on a team that is trying to reach the depths of the playoffs.
If you had to pick based on stats, you'd say Vasquez was just as good if not better than Jrue, but you'd be an idiot to think you'd rather have Vasquez over Jrue on a playoff team.

Fair enough. I just think we should pump the brakes a bit on Jrue until he actually proves something. He's been the same player for 6 years. I want to see him make a jump, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that he will. It's the same issue with Tyreke Evans. He's also been the same damn player for 5-6 years. We need to draft someone with actual upside and that is willing to put in the work to improve. EX: Look at James Harden, Steph Curry, Kawai Leonard, Paul George. I don't think anyone expected these players to become stars in the NBA, but they were coached up and put the work in.

I forgot the part where defense didn't count toward how good a player is.

If your comment is in reference to people considering Jrue a long term piece that isn't moveable, I agree. Jrue can play very well, but has not shown that he can lead a team deep into the playoffs. But no one is going to give us value for Jrue with his injury history, so we need to see if he can stay healthy and then decide next season if we value him enough to resign him to a large deal.
Having said that I would not avoid drafting a high level starting caliber PG (Kris Dunn ) or acquiring one in a trade/FA this offseason just because Jrue is on the roster. Jrue doesn't have to initiate the offense. He can play SG and backup PG. I like him as a versatile piece with 2 way skills.
If your comment was that we should have kept Ish, then I disagree. Getting two seconds for him was awesome. Ish is not getting us past the first round or even to the playoffs this year. He is expiring and we wouldn't have any rights to him. We know how he plays in our system and thus if we want him we can still go after him in the offseason. I do think he will be overpaid by a bad team though.

Eh. I don't care what DWS says, you cannot possibly argue that Ish is a better defender than Jrue. I know you like Ish a lot, and really, he has turned out to be a good player, but you can't believe that.

Cannot possibly argue a stat? I don't really wish to, honestly. Everyone can come to their own conclusion.
I'll just say Jrue doesn't move like he used to. Whether he gets back to that point remains to be seen

We got two 2nd rounders for someone we prolly wouldn't have been able to keep anyways. And it javelin'd the 76ers tank, along with some help from poppa Silver.

Jrue no doubt has defensive talent, but overall he is not a good defensive player. He an Ish have the same D Rating, similar Def Plus Minus, and similar Defensive Win Shares. The eye test bears it out as well. Jrue has fouled on more 3 point attempts that I can count this year and he constantly takes inexcusable gambles that result in wide open corner 3's and free runs at the basket.
