sounds like his college recruitment we may have been the one school to scout out this gem, but can we really trust this staff on QB evals, let alone "diamond in the rough" evals?
Texas Tech's dude got 1 offer.

There are always exceptions but most top 10 programs sign A qb every year.... serious answer! Also this will be the third or 4 the year in the past 7 that we scrambling last minute to find a qb it just shines a light on how top QB recruits know what's going on down here. They know the offense is not good.

So our QBs will be gracious enough to be injured only one at a time?

I mean yeah if LSU has 3 QBs get injured we will be in trouble

And so would every other football team in the country

But between Curnwell Bateman and Barnett two will transfer out. Effectively the same as never being at Bama

Uh....no it's not the same. You find out who really can do what over a year or two on campus. The best survive.

Only one will likely transfer (Cornwell). Bateman will be a junior next year and has already played some games. If he wins, he stays and Barnett stays until Bateman graduates. If Barnett wins, Bateman likely still stays and plays the back-up role.

It's more than likely only 1 transfers out of the three. If Cornwell wins, I have no idea what happens to Barnett though.

Kliff Kingsberry can scout QBs

he also scouted/recruited baker mayfield, who had no real offers and was a walkon at TTech

our staff has hit on 0 QBs of that caliber out of HS. our staff just doesn't have the same sort of track record

That's exactly the point. I am not convinced Cam even knows what he is looking for.

That's the problem. He looks for shite that anyone can see just from a kid warming up. Where's the in depth analysis of an actual skill set? What throws can a kid make? Can he control a huddle? Can he adjust his blocking? Can he read the safeties? It takes no effort to see if a kid is 6'2" and has good arm strength. There's also a reason why these kids don't sign with LSU. It's hard to believe in an offense that does not feature good qb play.

You honestly think that is all he looks at?

If that was the case we would have offered Cole Kelly

And not offered McMillian.

If Barnett wins the job, both older QBs roll out

That's just the way it is nowadays

So, pivot the offense to spread, when everyone thinks we have a pro-style OC? And double down on dual threats again, which has proven very problematic under Miles? Well, now that sounds real promising, now doesn't it.

don't understand the melt. Harris for 2 more years and then McMillan will be a RS Soph.

Because Harris regressed severely as the season went on and he was not even that good at the start. LSU is down to a below average QB in Harris, a guy who couldn't beat him out in Jennings, a QB that couldn't win the starting job at Purdue, a 3 star RS freshman, and a Tulane QB who wouldn't have started this year so he transferred.

I don't know how LSU consistently finds itself in this situation year after year. les' inability to manage the recruiting and development of the QB position has cost him and LSU multiple championships.

It's a gross mismanagement of the most important position on the field.

So we should melt because the staff that nobody trusts when it comes to QBs missed on their chosen QBs to pursue?

Makes sense

I have witnessed him at camp and I know he looks at more, but it is hard to find evidence of that in his recruitment.

Are y'all silly? Who is behind hopefully good redshirt sophomore McMillan in 2018? A redshirt freshman who is at least a 2 year project as a passer? A graduate transfer in 2016 or 2017? If McMillan goes down (hell even if he doesn't he's still a project and we all know how LSU handles QB projects) we will be suffering at QB in 2018.

Yes, let's go 6 ft project in one class and no QB in the next class. Then after 2017 we are left with a redshirt freshman/true sophomore as the backup or possible starter. BRILLIANT!!!

This is simply not true. I will never understand why yall need to make stuff up? He steadily progressed and showed vast improvements all the way until the Bama game, when he suffered an injury that required surgery immediately following the season. Obviously, he didn't look as good from the Bama game on. Tougher defenses combined with a severe sports hernia.
