Green Bay's defense gave up a touchdown drive.

Green Bay's offense never got on the field.

Two different things.

The team that wins the toss has essentially the same percentage of winning the game as the two point success rate.

This would be helpful if you knew who would win the toss before making the 2pt decision though.

The offense never touched the ball. Stop being obtuse. They had no chance to answer like in college.

You said GB didn't have a chance to win in OT. They did.

Not sure what else to tell you.

I dunno. I don't know what the numbers say. Just me, personally, the idea of not having a chance to respond because of a coin flip is awful.

Coaches would rather let the defense lose than make a ballsy decision.

Nobody will be talking shite about McCarthy after this. But if he had gone for two and failed? Oh ho lee frick, his head would be on a First Take platter

Not sure what you're getting at on this one.

More of a coin toss than a flip.

I do not like that OT rule, I do agree with that.

You said "They didn't have a chance to win in OT? Was the game called?"

I'm saying that green bay's offense didn't have a chance because their defense failed them.

probability to win at the end of regulation

2pt conversion has lower odds.

If I have AR, I'm going for two every single time. I'd rather that than the possibility of him never seeing the ball in an overtime.

You have all the momentum and a defense sulking about a fluke play.. No better time to go for the win IMO..

There shoulda been a question mark after my statement, i misspoke.

I was actually disagreeing with the guy who said they didn't have a chance to win in OT.

This, too.

No chance the Arizona defense was ready for a conversion. They were in fricking shock.

46.2% win probability right?

All NFL teams converted 47.8% of two point conversions this year according to this LINK.

Also, according to that site, Green Bay was 4 of 6 in their two point attempts this season.

A team should never go for two in that situation unless the defense has either failed to stop the opposing team all night or if the team is completely exhausted due to injuries/depth issues/opposing team's pace of play/weather.

Over the past five years, teams have converted 47.8% of two point plays. Odds would be VERY SLIGHTLY in favor of going for it. Although, I'm just guessing that the conversion rate is slightly lower for visiting teams. It's actually an extremely tough call.

Another consideration. The possibility of your best player on the team never having the chance to touch the ball should be a factor.

It really boils down to a matter of opinion and there's no wrong answer I suppose.

In my view:

- I'd rather try to go 2 yards in 1 play than go 75+ on X plays.
- I'd rather not risk losing the coin toss and not touching the ball.
- I'd want to jump on THAT defense in THAT situation given their recent trauma.
- Aaron fricking Rodgers

Just my two cents.
