I'm slowly learning its a waste of time and that not many people are worth getting to know that hang out in bars. Anyone else experience this as they got older?

But I see older people who go to their usual spots and haunt the place. They seem so happy and they have tons of money.

Stop going to bars to pick up women. Go and get drunk.

When you get your priorities in order, life is easy.

Older people bars usually are places where you can hear yourself think and aren't full of douchers. Going out in Louisiana 22-30ish seems to be terrible. Crowded, smoke filled bars, retarded patrons, shitty overpriced beer, etc. You have to head out to a real city to find fun bars for that age range.

I'm still all about going to hear a band. But I hate meat market dance clubs. I don't like to flirt and scream. I've gotten laid way more from a regular bar than a dance club. Plus I've hated pop music since I was 17-18. Though I do appreciate the slutty outfits women wear to clubs.

The best times in my life we're at Nola bars on Frenchmen in my late 20s.

Unfortunately, Frenchmen turned into a gentrified bourbon st. Once cafe negril quit letting me smoke weed inside, I knew changes were coming.

People generally go out to bars for 3 reasons:
1. to meet members of the opposite sex
2. to listen to live music
3. to enjoy time bullshitting with friends

As people get older, especially once they have long-term SO's, the reasons for going out become less and less pertinent. Why am I going out to the club when I've got a woman here? Why can't I just BS with my bros in my nice house with cold beer in the fridge and a nice shitter?

As we get older, we start to get the kinds of things and commitments in our lives that make "going out" less attractive and necessary.

I'm 41 and I occasionally go out by myself to bars, especially karaoke bars. But I like singing karaoke. And drinking.

Adults call those people alcoholics. Or drunks if you want to be old school about it.

ever since internet dating, bars have become seriously inefficient. Like netflix vs cable

It probably has a lot to do with the patrons at these clubs and bars getting younger as you age disgracefully.

Bars were good for one thing to a single guy more than a few years out of college, and that was women with loose morals. Tinder now offers this.

This 60 year old bookie showed me his bank account on the phone and it had 6 digits.
