Whose your favorite historical figure

I've heard bits and pieces of him in other biographies and I just got a biography of him but I think mine's George C Marshall. Soldier, statesman, and leader, he hasn't been given the credit he truly deserves for winning world war 2. He managed to be non partisan through being stuck in Washington DC (he very much wanted to be more hands on in the war but he knew he was needed in his current position).
In world War 1, an officer was asked if he would like Marshall as a subordinate, and the officer responded, "of course, but honestly I'd prefer to serve under him."
Also a contemporary said "he was the greatest human being who ever became a great man."
I'm sure in reading the biography I'll find some questionable stuff. :(
But anyway, Whose your favorite figure.
