Whorns did it

1.8 mill is not a bad addition.

Maybe beer sales money could go into a "buyout fund"

I'm sure LSU would bring in over 1.8 mill. I don't see it ever happening though.

I thought the buyout fund idea was funny and if a sport has a bad season, might keep people attending games and drinking beer

People attend LSU games regardless. I doubt many people would show up just to drink beer in Tiger Stadium. There is a large portion who would still sit outside the stadium/stay home and drink from their ice chest, rather than drink a $10 beer.

Maybe the AD should not agree stupid contracts with 100% buyouts after fake Arkansas flirtations and the beer revenue could go to building new facilities or something.

I think I remember reading that Jerry World sold like $8 million in alcohol sales for the LSU v Oregon game. Which is why we get invited back every 2-3 years.

Am I right on that figure?

BTW I agree, sell alcohol everywhere outside the student section. They can still sneak theirs in so LSU avoids liability issue there

At the bowl game last week they stopped selling beer at the end of half time. I asked why since they usually sell beer until the end of the 3rd qtr. The vending manager said that the LSU fans had bought too much beer and management was afraid that things would get out of hand. Not sure if true but that is what I was told.

which contributes to the binge drinking. but if you know people are sneaking alcohol in, why not just sell beer until the end of half time for a premium price and cut down on alcohol related incidents?

west virginia did it and it's worked out great.

They may very well stay longer if they know they can keep their buzz going. Sad, yes, but that does fuel many fans in leaving. Why not make money off it?

It's a good thing they don't sell beer. Maybe for a 2:30 game.

Can you imagine how much money they would make on a hot September day? And it would cut down on drunkenness. It would discourage people from sneaking in bourbon and there are only so many $9.00 beers people would be willing to buy. The temperance people should get behind this.

That stadium holds 80,000 people that would mean every single person there would have spent $100 on Alcohol.

I think you're a little off.

This comes up all the time as if it's solely LSU's administrators deciding not to do this...but isn't the issues it's a league wide ban? It was always my understanding that the league did this at the request a few schools which fall is areas where drinking in frowned upon...

But let's be honest...if this was solely up to LSU you'd be able to buy shitty Tiger Beer for $8 a plastic cup immediately.

You realize there are more than just $9.00 beers sold? I bought 2 big arse margaritas while I watched LSU demolish Oregon. That alone was like $18/each. Stuffs expensive

Didn't LSU used to sell beer in the stadium? Maybe in the 80s?

Are those numbers for what is available to the general seating areas? They have liquor included on that list... can you buy mixed drinks at UT games as well?
