Jacksons and Sail Pavilion for relaxed outdoor drinking on the water
Samurai Blue in Ybor for sushi
SoHo (South Howard) - MacDintons, Cheap, Drynk, Yard of Ale (caveat: crowds can be younger, aggressive, and cheesy)
Fly Bar downtown for a more sophisticated, slightly older, craft cocktail crowd (there can be a lot of beautiful women here)
Four Green Fields for an authentic and very sedate Irish pub
Restaurants - edison, rooster and the till, ulele, the refinery, ava, berns, anise
Brunch - Oxford Exchange, Jacksons
7th street in Ybor itself is like miniature, Cubano version of Bourbon Street. Worth walking around one weekend evening. The bars and clubs are predictably cheesy, but can be fun. Don't wander too far off the primary strip. And be careful. Take cabs or Uber to and from your hotel. I liked to drink outdoors in the little patio at Gaspars Grotto. Good view of the street freaks.
Remember that St. Pete is only a short car ride away. It has its own bar precincts. Clearwater Beach is also within driving distance.
Finally, be forewarned. Tampa nightlife is notoriously fickle and elusive. On the right night at the right bar, there will be an overwhelming abundance of eligible women. On other nights, it can appear forsaken and gloomy.

What this guy said but.
Fly Bar (small plates)
Anise (best Mojito ever)
And some bar in Ybor named after a monkey or a brass monkey or something. It was that kind of night, can't remember.
Mons Venus but have one sober dude to watch your back.

I heard the girl from the AT&T commercials lives there. You should see if you can meet her.

Bad Monkey. It is a Special Ops themed bar that BG Dave Scott (USAF retired) owns.
