Would Les Miles be a good AD at LSU?

I am of the opinion that he would. He has a business degree, loves Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana, has made some outstanding hires as a Football coach, and is a great ambassador for the university. His age is a bit of a negative but he would be hands down better than Alleva. If successful, Aranda may be ready to take over after Les's contract expires. What says the rant!

Yes. And he should be when he retires.

I've been saying this for a year. Fire Alleva, move Miles to AD, keep Aranda as DC, and hire Tom Herman. Win NCs.

I really think he will end up as the AD considering how much he is loved and how bad Alleva F'd up with everything.

Can't be any worse, seems to have the personality to deal with boosters and what not. Of he has a hand in the coaching hires he has been right more than wrong imo.

No. The guy doesn't have the balls to fire anyone; always finds them another job and gently shows them the door. Not that I have too much of a problem with that but I think as an AD you need to be able to fire people.
He also has a history of hiring personal friends and not being objective about their performance.

Would be a home-run hire IMO ... set us up for many years of success. Cares just as much a bout women sports as men's.

Yes.
Fire Alleva before he does to our program what he did to Duke Lacrosse. Geaux Les. Negas gona neg.

This is one of the most ignorant statements here regarding Miles. This one goes right along with "he doesn't play Freshman, he only plays his favorites", etc..

And each was shown the door when they didn't improve. If this were true, Miles would still have the same coaching staff he had years ago.
As the OP stated, Miles would make a great AD. He has a business degree from one of the top business schools in the US. He is a solid person and everyone who has worked with him loves him.
Keyboard warriors on the Rant who have never worked with the man or in the football office don't know jack shite about what Miles could/couldn't do.
I hope he is successful in his "second" stint here and moves into the AD role similar to Bertman. But that's just me.

No. He is too loyal to "his guy". Once he selected a coach, if that coach struggled, he would wait way too long to prove everyone wrong so that "his guy" could turn it around. Just like he does with QB's. Would be a bad deal.

He would be the best AD LSU has ever had IMO. He's a lot smarter than people give him credit for and he's great for our university especially the athletic side. Bleeds purple and gold and what do the only thing that's best for LSU

He would drive LSU bankrupt then find a loop hole that would all of a sudden make LSU the richest program in the country.

Miles in a non coaching role would be GREAT with boosters I'd think. The man can sell (recruit)

Well, Skip Bertman didn't suck

CLM would have to have a ton of advisers. He typically only see's things one way and that's his way

No, he wouldn't be good at the job. He has absolutely NO experience at the position. None.
NO school should EVER hire a COACH who has RETIRED to take over an important, full-time position running the university's complete athletic program. This is absurd.
If you want to honor Mile$ or reward him (and I think he's been rewarded enough with his contract compensation), then you could hire him to do fundraising. Let him play golf, give speeches and tell war stories to alumni groups and large money boosters.
