Average american height- 5'10
Average American weight -191 pounds

That was not a small child by any means. If the public is being threatened by an idiot with a toy gun that looks pretty damn real, Zero fricks will be given about his death. frick that dude, frick his family for not raising him right, and frick anybody who thinks it wasn't justified. People just trying to have a good day at a park get that bullshite. These people want to live a simple life get complicated by a retard with a fake gun in a time when walking around with any type of weapon can get you killed. 100% his and his family's fault.

Do you know if he could have approached from a different angle/further away ? Were there people in that park that the vehicle got b/t to prevent injury to them in case of gunfire ? No, but you want to fire the "useless cop driving the vehicle", yet you don't know the circumstances. One thing you do know is a 12 year old boy walked around a park with a fake handgun and pointed it at people. He also reached for it once the unit arrived. Was he crazy ? Probably, did he know it (the replica gun) would scare people, sure he did otherwise he wouldn't have been out there doing it. Bottom line is the kid put himself into that situation and as a result of his actions he is dead.

they drove up to him. they could have stopped at any point in the line that took them there.

it's a common theme with trigger happy cops. they intentionally put themselves into a dangerous situation and squeeze the trigger knowing that they will get off regardless of how badly they ignored their training

i mean why not right.. they're almost impossible to convict.

let's not be dishonest here..

it's almost exclusively black people with weapons that are getting killed. white people with weapons magically seem to interact with sane cops.

Rice was killed by a cop who most likely should never have been there.

Two years ago, Loehmann struggled to complete his firearms qualification training, records show. “He could not follow simple directions, could not communicate clear thoughts nor recollections, and his handgun performance was dismal,” a 2012 memo from Jim Polak, deputy chief of the Independence Police Department, reads.

Sounds like he's not a murderer but a guy who is just not fit to be a cop.

They claimed they warned the kid multiple times before they shot. If you watch the video, this is impossible.

Hands up hands up hands up. ??? Announcement on the PA installed on the unit ? You are taught to give verbal commands. However, when someone has or is assumed to have a firearm you are not going to wait until you can give 3 commands when they make an attempt to go for their weapon. As I keep posting, these guys may not be the best or the brightest on the force, but this idiot caused his demise. To banter back and forth about the officers murdering this innocent kid is just silly. I wish critics of police had the ability to walk thru the live shoot (simunition) scenarios, it would change your opinion immediately.

Did you not see the numbers a few pages back from 2015. 900 odd police killings in 2015 and less than 300 were black folk. So your statement is just flat out factually wrong.

I don't understand why people want to ignore what the kid was doing, yet bring up the officers past. Either be completely honest or not. The facts are if any citizen had a gun and this kid pulled the toy gun they would have shot him. That I'd why I have gave up on having rational talks. People are so ignorant that can't put themselves in the situation, even as a civilian. He points that at you, you shoot him if you have a gun.

If this was a civilian that shot him, this wouldn't be near ad big and would have been dropped. Oh course all you cop haters are going to say no if it was a civilian they would have been convicted. I say, go do some research. Many times people have pulled guns and got shot and nothing happened. Let's not look at past history because it doesn't fit the agenda. This racist cop couldn't wait to kill a black kid. Ignore facts and logic. The cop definitely should have waited till thE kid pulled the trigger.

They didn't have time to say shite.

Looks like the kid was showing them the gun by pulling up his jacket when he was shot. There was less than two seconds between the time the cruiser stopped and Rice was laying on the ground mortally wounded.

Cops are given the benefit of the doubt when it's believed it could be reasonable that the officer felt his life was in danger. That interpretation is dangerous to society.

The officer in question should never have been on the street.

quote:

Officer Timothy Loehmann, who killed Tamir Rice on 22 November, was specifically faulted for breaking down emotionally while handling a live gun. During a training episode at a firing range, Loehmann was reported to be "distracted and weepy" and incommunicative. "His handgun performance was dismal," deputy chief Jim Polak of the Independence, Ohio, police department wrote in an internal memo.

The memo concludes with a recommendation that Loehmann be "released from the employment of the City of Independence". Less than a week later, on 3 December 2012, Loehmann resigned.

Other records reported by Cleveland.com's Andrew Tobias showed Loehmann failed the written entrance exam for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department. He also reportedly failed to get hired at police departments in Akron, Euclid, and Parma Heights.

City officials said they weren't aware of Loehmann's troubled history at other police departments when they hired him.

An FBI agent and another Cleveland police officer arrived at the recreation center about four minutes after the shooting. The FBI agent told investigators that he took charge of trying to save Tarmir, whose intestines were protruding out his body through the gunshot wound. He added that the officers “wanted to do something, but they didn’t know what to do.”

Okay. Not worth the argument being that I really don't care. Just stated my opinion. Its terrible the kid died, however witnesses saying he was pointing the gun at people in the park make it harder for me to be understanding. But let's ignore what witnesses say.

So much fault on both parties. Question for the "victim" supporters. Do you think the officer deserves jail time. I'm not asking whether or not he should be fired, demoted, excused from ever owning a gun again etc. Simply, do you think he deserves jail time?

What I remember from the video is how fricking stupid the cop driving the police car was. The dumbass pulls up literally 20-30 feet away from the kid on his partners side. The cop on the passenger side gets out and is confronted with a kid with a gun right in front of him and blasts him.

It was terrible tactics all around. The cops should have parked a distance away from the kid and used the car for cover and told the dumbass kid to drop the gun instead of pulling a robocop on him.

I've read the thread but I don't recall any of them actually stating that the cop deserves to go to jail. I'm waiting to see what their judgement would be .
