The house I am building is all brick except back patio. The builder gave the option of vinyl siding or hardiplank. I am thinking the hardi would look better but wanted some advice from anyone who has faced a similar choice.

Mine usually looks better hardi. It just doesn't look as big when it's not hardi

it's risky if you go down that plank road

Go hardiplank. Vinyl looks cheap. Hardi can be cleaned and repainted easily.

I just replaced old cedar with hardi plank on my Reno off highland

I definitely recommend it. Make sure the installer is nailing these properly, there is more detail online

We replaced the wood siding on our house during the renovation with hardiplank. I would highly suggest hardiplank.

Any fiber concrete siding is better than vinyl in my experience though the new vinyls are very nice these days.

Do hardi with a 4" reveal, it looks great. Coil nailer, bout every 2' apart. Get after it.

Vinyl will be cheaper to install.

Cement siding is good and will last forever but you have to paint it.

Also, they have prepainted hardy siding; but you have to use kid gloves when handling it because it chips really easy and the touch up paint does it no justice.

Spend the extra money on cement board and give it a nice paint job.
