Post you're fondest memory of what had to be the funniest football coach's call in shows in the history of broadcasting

Whatcha got............

The guy that called up once and said he had 5 grand for anybody out there that would shoot Hallman was pure gold. They cut him off but he managed to get all that over the air

My fondest memories are the Golden Flake commercials between segments.

Once, when Curley was asked if the QB job was still an open competition, his response, "As open as a Case knife in a barroom brawl".

My buddy took off his shoe and threw it at Hallman running off field at halftime of a game. The security came looking but he walked back to his apt. in Tigerland. He almost hit him. Close

It was not during his radio show, but in a post game interview after loosing to auburn, the reporter asked "coach Hallman, what was the worse thing about that loss today"?. He looked at her with that wild eyed curly look, and responded "the worse thang? The worse thang? That Damn Loss out dar that was the worse thang!"

I don't remember this but I do remember that disaster of a call in show that Jordy Hultberg had on WBRZ ch2 at 10:30 on sunday nights. I wonder who thought it was a good idea to have a call in show on live TV with no delay. Someone called in and asked Jordy who had the biggest dick on the team Harvey Williams or some other guy I can't remember who it was. There was other stuff but that was the funniest. People were constantly messing with Jordy.

Fall of 96, Jordy and Bowser would get it every show to the point by the middle of the season, they stopped doing the call-ins.

I remember this! The way I remember it was during the postgame show with Kevin Ford, though. Was his name Pablo?

I'd like to think he called the radio show AND postgame to offer the 5 grand.

I think at this time they were doing some form of a delay. Back in the Curly days they were doing actual live on air calls for awhile. That shite was funny as hell.

I remember it during his radio show. They had to hang up on tons of callers because it was getting out of hand. Like the guy who called in twice, he used different names but it was obviously him. Just ragging on Curley to the point where Hallman told him to meet him at his office the next morning and they can settle this like men. You can't make this shite up. It was radio gold.

Ahhh the good ole days when LSU fans would kill to have a 3 loss season. Also, having Jamie Howard behind the center was worse than having Anthony Jennings behind center.

It seems like Curley's go to explanation for most losses was simply that they didn't cross the goal line enough times. "Gotta score more points, get the ball into the end zone, score more touchdowns". Captain obvious stuff. I can still remember watching his introductory press conference when he said he was going to ship the ear rings back home to momma. I thought we had a real hard arse up and coming coach. Was I ever wrong. My first game in TS was the Florida State game in 1982 when the students threw the oranges on the field. Ten years later I was sitting in a half empty stadium looking around and wondering what the hell happened to LSU football.
