Are they not aware of how bad he was at Iowa State and what Auburn looked like w/o Cam?

The rumor mill is swirling in Greenville. I'm not putting much stock in this one, though sources are saying AD Compher was believed to be in Raleigh yesterday talking with Chizik.

regardless of how one things of the chiz he does have a natty that no one can take away from him.

Agree and its always funny how people try and discredit it. He did an amazing job at Auburn in 2010.

Hope he gets that job. He did great with UNC this year.
I believe Chizik is a good coach but his ego did him in at Auburn. Hopefully he's learned from it

He's out of play for us now. It sounds like we couldn't pay him what he wants so his staying at Chapel Hill. I would imagine he'll be getting a raise from them anyway.

Well your athletic department must be some of those people, because they obviously didn't think he had much to do with it. Why else would they have fired him so quickly afterwards?
Auburn fans don't like when people tell them it was all Cam, because deep down they know that a once-in-a-lifetime player is the only way they're winning a natty. This fear causes all sorts of irrational behavior, like pretending Gene Chizik was ever a competent head coach.

Cam was amazing and I will give you that but he had a pretty darn good defense that year too. Just because he had a down year doesnt mean he won't be successful at another school. I kind of like ole Chizik. Hope he makes it if he does go to ECU.

i am liking Chiz myself but I think he was a tool at AU. I think Cam's OL was a strength of that team too
