Kudos to y'all for making sure your daughter is squared away and not getting involved into anything she shouldn't be. I would imagine that parental involvement is huge in something like this, as it is with most activities involving kids.

I think the kids that are at the most risk for abuse are the ones who's parents don't care or just look at their kid as a cash cow and their ticket to the big bucks.
I heard about that documentary, looks pretty interesting. I also read last night that apparently the Discovery Channel put something together on the subject a few years back and, not surprisingly, it didn't get aired.
Reading the thread yesterday about what Elijah Wood has alleged goes on in Hollywood in regards to child molestation made me think what I would do (if I were a parent) if my kid wanted to be an actor/actress or was approached by a talent agent about auditioning for a role.

On one hand I feel you don't want to hold them back if it is something they are good at and/or passionate about but knowing what is going on (or has alleged to be going on) would certainly give me a lot of pause.

So what say y'all?
I figured it would be one of Bale or Carrell from The Big Short but hey good for Matt Damon. I enjoyed The Martian and thought he did a good job in the lead role.
I was pretty surprised when I saw the news last night. He certainly wasn't on my radar (or probably anyone else's).

There is certainly a lot of upside with this hire but a lot of downside too. He seems passionate and energetic enough. Apparently he is a pretty good recruiter and seems to relate well to the kids he coaches. Also has a stamp of approval from both Coach Cut and Mike Tomlin (he was on the steelers staff when they won the SB in 2010).

Downside is he is still pretty young and has no HC experience. Like many HC's it is all going to depend on the staff he can put together. If he can assemble a decent staff I think this will turn out alright for us. If not then I don't see him lasting very long. I guess only time will tell but I'll be pulling for him unless he gives me a reason not to.
Yeah that was the most awkward thing I've seen on tv in a long time.
Game/clock management, poor discipline on the field, and starting the last two seasons off strong before falling off sharply the last half of the year. Personally I would have given him one more year considering we had key injuries at the QB and OL positions but it is what it is.

I'm glad he got picked up somewhere. He'll always be a Pirate and I'm sure he'll do well at UVA.

He's out of play for us now. It sounds like we couldn't pay him what he wants so his staying at Chapel Hill. I would imagine he'll be getting a raise from them anyway.
I'm pretty bummed about the news. Coach Ruff was a great ambassador for ECU and I'm going to miss him. I don't know what our AD is thinking but he's holding a press conference at 2 pm EST so I hope to find out more then.
As an ECU alum I hope Lincoln gets an HC job soon. I think he would do well at Carolina. We certainly missed him this year but I'm thankful he was with us for 5 years. He's a pretty good recruiter and I think if he hired a good DC he would have a lot of success.
I'm down with some Kacey Musgraves. :pimp:
The Progressive insurance commercials with the talking box.
I could be wrong but I want to say for one of the complaints the sheriffs department investigated, couldn't find anything, and it was dropped. Again I'm not 100% positive about that. I know some of the students at Spring Valley we're interviewed and were asked questions about him. Some said he was cool and others said he was a douche.
I think he had one or two complaints against him previously and I believe they were something along the lines of excessive force.

It was and still is pretty high. I'm a Panthers fan so I'm sure being 6-0 helps. If we sucked this year I would still watch but probably wouldn't be as vested in it. Outside of Carolina I'll watch other games if it's a good match-up.
I'm really enjoying this show as well. It's not the kind of show that I would normally watch but it has been really good so far. Chad might be my favorite character, he has some great one-liners.
I just saw The Martian tonight. Really good movie, if any of yall haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it.
