Texas Bowl Ticket Sales

Per Matt Moscona (104.5 FM), LSU has sold 7,000 tickets and only about 1,200 remain.
OP Update: 8,500 allotment, 7,250 sold, 1,250 tickets remain
From The Advocate: The Texas Bowl announced it has already sold about 55,000 tickets, though whether that includes the allotment for each school in 71,054-seat NRG Stadium wasn’t known.

I thought LSU would get more like 15k-20k tickets.

Damn, the rant told me that no one would buy tickets or even turn the TV on.

School used to get 15,000 allotments from the bowls and would have to eat the unsold tickets. The conference negotiated that number down with the new bowl contracts. There will be a solid LSU showing.

I could be wrong, but I think if you buy the kickoff classic tickets directly you have to also buy the bowl tickets as well. So I'm assuming a lot of those tickets are in the hands of A&M and Arizona State fans and won't be used

This shouldn't be a surprise. LSU has a mammoth alumni base in Houston and the city is a short drive from Louisiana.

I don't think that's correct...

How many times will that douchebag play his own call from catholic state title game today?

Booked my hotel room today. They were dropping like flies every minute.

Tiger fans always travel well!!!*
*only when it's a good bowl matchup or near large alumni groups.

Last year, they offered packages for both games. It was a pretty good deal from what I recall.

You could buy the tickets separately.
Texans Season ticket holders/PSL holders were offered the tickets both to the Kickoff Classic and the bowl game before the beginning of the season when Texans tickets were going on sale.

I've been listening all day. I think he played it once. The morning guys, Derek and Jordy, played it about ten times and joked about it. It's Baton Rouge station talking about a 5-A Baton Rouge school that just won its first championship in over 100 years. Deserve a couple of days to celebrate. And the station broadcasts the games.

Why buy now?
You'll be able to picket up tickets cheap for this shitty bowl game closer to gameday.

LSU fans don't visit, they invade.

Hey I'm happy for CHS and coach weiner.
I'd just prefer not to hear him playing his own call of him screaming like a girl. Thought it was also over the line, telling people screw you earlier about it. It's HS football calm down

Yes if the game is played in an area with a heavy alumni fan base. But our last few bowls would probably disagree with that assessment
