Yes, bottom 10 NFL coaches coasting on past achievements don't grow on trees, mate

When journalists use phrases such as "might consider," it is a good sign that they are making shite up.

Sounds like Joe Schad's reporting during the Les Miles fiasco

I've seen this scenario before..if he wins the last game he's in? If he loses, he's out?

Seems like since CSP called out the Sunday morning "splash" reports late last season, that he's been the subject of them almost half the year this season.

They will make the decision at halftime

We have a lot of rebuilding to do. Our depth is awful. We pretty much need to rebuild both lines. The only real asset we have left for trade is Brees. You think Payton wants to hang around for all of that?

There's been a lot of rumblings this year about Payton leaving, and I think there's some truth to it. Whether it's him burnt out and wants a change of scenery, or his relationship with Loomis has soured; I do think Payton could be gone at the end of the year.
If that's the case, we better get at least a #1 pick and a high one at that. Not sure what Payton's trade value would even be, but we better take a team to the woodshed for compensation.
And then pray we hire a competent coach.

No reason to unless there is a home run hire. Not sure who would be one

And everyone local seems to believe his agent is the one behind them this year, so what does that tell you?

Exactly
I keep clicking on the articles expecting to see some kind of confirmation of these stories and it's never there. I'm sure the Dolphins would love to have Payton, but how that translates to the saints would consider trading him, I have no idea.

If we keep Miles and let go of Payton, then I fricking quit football. I may go just buy a boat and have an enjoyable Sunday.
