What's the best BBQ in the south Louisiana area? I can't seem to find real good BBQ like the Shed in MS. The best thing I found was Eddies. Does Louisiana really not so good BBQ like Texas or Mississippi??

It is pretty sad around the BR area. Waynes in Livingston is pretty good

Damn. Eddies in Lafayette closed down for good and that was by far the best. Eddies is originally out of Alexandria tho.

You must be a coonass who only eats rice with their meat

FWIW, I concur with Rouge about The Shed...Try Big Mike's though. It's pretty good for Louisiana.

The Shed is some of the weakest BBQ I've ever had. I've eaten it a lot because you can land at a grass runway near there.
Smoking Aces in Baton Rouge is really good.
The Frances Smokehouse in St. Francisville is respectable.
South Louisiana does smoked pork meats best. The porks sausages, andoullie, and boudin are best. Tasso, hocks, and ponce are good too. It's more of a cold smoke rather that the heat required to render ribs and brisket.

The shed sucks. Murky waters in os and gulfport is the best BBQ on the gulf coast.

Anyone ever ate at "the joint" in New Orleans? Pretty solid. Real BBQ. Pretty damn good.

The Joint is a bijillion times better than The Shed.

Eddie's is absolute dogfood. What a terrible establishment. Not even the best BBQ in Alexandria.

Okay okay. Apparently the shed isn't even that good I'll for sure have to try these spots. Thanks guys

I have several times and was not impressed at all, but many people on this board seem to like it. Nothing in La has really impressed me that much though. I can generally do better at home unless I want brisket which is rare.

Well, at least now I know I'm not alone in not being impressed at all by The Shed.
