Jennings got in off the field trouble and didn't participate in spring ball.

Then Anthony Jennings should have been good this year (his 3rd year in college), right? Yet he got beaten out by a player in his second year who had a bad season. If time in the program (or in college) was all you are cracking it up to be, then why did we start our second year player over our third year player? If it was because the second year player was better, then why didn't the third year player get better in his third year like you are claiming they do?
No. No. No. No.
I don't think you're even trying to understand.
Jennings was probably better this year than last year, but the coaching staff determined that Harris gave LSU the better chance to win.
QBs get better with experience/years. However, that does not mean that QB A without years is necessarily better than QB B with years. Nevertheless, the theory still holds true: QB A with years is better than QB A without years. QB B with years is better than QB B without years.
Let me put that into real world terms for you.
Beckwith [Player A] in mid-season 2014 (So.) was better than Welter [Player B] in mid-season 2014 (RS Sr.).
However, Beckwith in mid-season 2014 (So.) was better than Beckwith in mid-season 2013 (Fr.), and Welter in mid-season 2014 (RS Sr.) was better than Welter in mid-season 2012 (RS So.).
Understand now?
Anthony Jennings probably would have been better than he was last year. We don't know. Does not mean he is better than Harris.
Nevertheless, Harris should be much better next year.

who knows how Jennings would've played, since he didn't get to.
he still had more experience in the system than harris. and he had fall practice to get back in.
another big issue going right back to the coaches - why the hell don't we have more juniors and seniors on the roster who can step up?

Are you saying most players don't get better as they mature with in a program ?
I believe most coaches at any level would disagree if that's what you are saying. If you are saying Harris will not improve, how could you possibility know that?

That is precisely the problem they need to fix
Which is sort of the point of this thread and others like it
If we can land a couple of good QBs this year, we should be set up for the next 5 years to have better QB play

Do you try to be as unintelligent as your posts make you seem? It's like you intentionally try to post something ridiculous no matter the subject.

The biggest problem has been finding a QB that is willing to wait his turn. Most have left the team when they found out they weren't going to start day 1. There is a razor thin line to walk. Even Bama gets it wrong every so often. They would have likely been in the lurch this year without Coker transferring in.

Problem solved for next year.

I understand that, but Player A (Jennings 2014) was about the same as Player B (Harris 2015). Shouldn't Player A be much better in 2015 than he was in 2014? And if Player B in 2015 is only about as good as Player A was in 2014, shouldn't Player A have improved enough to keep his starting job in 2015?

Only someone that didn't watch the players actually play would make this claim.
ETA: In 2 less games, Harris has thrown for more yards, more TDs, at a higher completion percentage and with less INTs.

Now, lets's step out of the hypothetical world and into the real world. Apparently, the coaching staff determined that, although Jennings improved from 2014 to 2015, 2015 Jennings was not "only about as good" as 2015 Harris. We don't know what 2015 Jennings might have been, but 2014 Jennings was not nearly as good as 2015 Harris.

Anthony Jennings was beat out by pure athleticism.
He's doesn't have the tools Harris has.

In LSU's current passing offense?
Cam Cameron not only has receivers running high-school routes, he's also asking the QB to hit the receivers running those simple routes 15+ yards downfield.
Drew Brees wouldn't complete 65% of his passes if he were at LSU tomorrow.

Way whu?
I'd bet Brees would throw 80% in th bowl game with a fricked up shoulder.
Give me two of whatever you're on

You lost me when you included Jordan Jefferson...the only place he would have been able to play quarterback in the United States is at LSU with Les Miles.
Posted on 12/1/15 at 4:50 pm to mrbayoublu
You kind of lost me, as well.
Wasn't Jordan Jefferson heavily recruited out of Destrehan High School?

Well, if think Jordan Jefferson was a quarterback, then you are lost. He masqueraded as one for 4 years and fooled a lot of people.
