His dad was one of two terrible coaches during the dark years of Houston football between Jenkins and Briles.

He basically said he had a source that said it was a home run and they were going to pay him double what they paid Carroll

If Chip Kelly gets canned in the next few weeks and takes another college job, the melt from USC will be like nothing we've ever seen.

I can see it now Chip Kelly gets fired, UCLA fires Mora, Chip Kelly goes to UCLA.

The USC melt will be epic, but will be surpassed by the LSU melt. Proving once and for Louisiana and not Los Ageles is the real LA.

Congrats Clay! You have to start somewhere. But do a decent job at USC and who knows, in 7 or 8 years you might get some consideration for a HC position at genuine powerhouse like Colorado or Oregon St.

USC is done as a serious program for a decade

Well it's been about 7 years since you were contending for anything anyways, so another 3 and you'll be back

They could have hired Helton any time they wanted. Why now? Pat Haden is the worst AD in the history of collegiate athletics. A total failure in every regard.

He is top3 for worst ADs all time. Here is the rankings:

1. Rick Dickerson - Tulane
2. Joe Alleva - LSU
3. Pat Haden -USCw

It's pretty obvious that this administration just doesn't care about football anymore. I'm literally in shock right now that Haden has done this. He must be ok with 8-4, 7-5 seasons for the foreseeable future.

USC is suffering from post-scandal private school syndrome. So you have a future similar to Miami's and SMU's to look forward to and in 25 years you will be Tulane (the Tulane part was sarcasm).

All Nikias cares about is raising massive sums of money. He doesn't want a big personality football coach that might bring negative attention getting in the way. It's the same reasons he's made it his personal mission to destroy the Row.

As an sc fan I'm disappointed they didn't at least wait til after the pac12 championship to find a new head coach. I'm so underwhelmed by this.

It's not a horrible hire ,but you could of done better. You could of waited until the off season to make him the head coach.

Clemson fans must be licking their chops at the moment. Muschamp found ways to lose against FSU.

No AD ranking is complete without the female AD at Tulane who was fired for messing around with a female athlete AND tried to call Skip's bluff. She tried to get Skip to share equally the money from the Winn Dixie baseball classic, when LSU fans were double the size of everyone else's. She told Skip Tulane would pull out if the split was not even. Skip told her BYE! And then there's the Tulane AD who agreed to give Bennie Ellender a 10 contract after beating LSU one yr.
