For the life of me, I can't figure out why we would take a timeout with under 5 seconds left in the half.

Les Miles believed he was going to force Texas A&M to punt.

He said at the time "WE'RE GONNA BLOCK IT."

He forgot that they could just take a knee.

Reading his lips, Les wanted to attempt to "block the punt"....

In his defense I'm sure he was calling timeout well before 1 sec, but by the time the play was over and the clock stopped it was obviously at 1 and thus no chance at getting what they were trying to get (chance at block)

While it didn't work in this case due to the time, I absolutely like the strategy of using the entire half and making a team do something that Michigan showed is this year that Ya Never know what can happen

Eh, can't take the time out with you. Was dependent on Sumlin going brain fart though... which he obviously didn't.

To me he said Lets make them punt. Who in their right mind would punt with 1 second left. Shows you how stupid Miles is.

Strong coaching. Clueless again in middle of game.

Les Miles being stupid again. There was no way they were going to punt with one second left before the half.

Yeah, don't get the point of criticism here ... "Stupid coach trying to get LSU an opportunity at some more points...Shame on him!"

They wanted to "ice" A&M on their kneel down in hope for a fumble.

Then make them actually take a knee. You never know when the other guy might have a brain fart and decide to kick it.

Les was thinking they would punt the ball which seems to indicate that he would've trotted his punter out there if the roles were reversed. Geez.

The only other coach that I ever recall doing something like that is Kevin Steele for Baylor.

Everyone wants to forget what happened a few iron bowl when Saban didn't cover all potential threats with 2 second on the clock.... there's nothing won't with being on the same page to try and prevent some bizarre debacle. You same people complaining would be the first ones demanding blood if A&M had done something unexpected and LSU hadn't been on the look out.
