You can thank Edwin Edwards for LSU's financial problems every time the state faces a shortage.

quote:most of the posters on this board dont really give a hoot about the academic part of LSU (aka the primary mission). To them its a football institution and that should be its priority. Professors are merely public servant leeches like all others, and any one is as good as another....so if the most highly qualified professors leave for what they see as more stable employment to another institution, or turn down an offer by LSU for the same reasons...it is not as all seen as a loss.
Because he has had proven success at large 4 year public universities...and continued that progression at LSU.

It is hardly Alexanders fault Jindal proposed cutting funding to LSU to the extent it would not longer be honest to call it a state university.
re: The real story behind this debacle
Posted by RandyCheese on 11/29/15 at 2:24 pm to ChurchillVFW
As much as I love LSU football, if this is true I side with Alexander. Although it would have cost LSU nil, to pretend like the wealthy TAF donors have nothing to do with electing the governor and legislature that have cut LSUs funding repeatedly over the past several years is naive...they are largely the same people. I have a problem with people who pay money to get funding to the schools academics cut and then expect us to forget about it when they wanna hire a 7 million dollar coach. If that is their priority they are free to form a professional football team. Although LSU football is a close second, LSUs academics have always been 1st in my head and if you disagree you should examine yhe definition of the word University.
re: Why do some people choose to be so miserable?

quote:just think how much more interesting they made your experience. We used to have a lady sitting behind us who would yell " aww come on!!!!" At the top of her lungs whenever LSU was on offens and the play clock hit 5. I miss her.
During the moment of silence before the game one screams out "Jimbo". Then throughout the game they proceeds to yell at the team/Les, why the hell are we running the ball, why are we passing the ball, why don't we run it, why don't we throw it, etc (this would change depending on the play call). Then after the first missed field goal acting as if we hadn't made a field goal all year and getting pissed we even tried. These idiots were complaining about everything we did during the game and wouldn't even cheer when we had a big play. So to you two idiots and the rest of you miserable fans that can't for the life of yourself cheer on the Tigers

Joe Alleva once took a dump in a public pool and tried to blame my toddler for it.

Joe Alleva is the guy at the very end of a long convenience store line who jumps to the front as soon as a clerk opens another register.

No, just tired of the group that feels the need to constantly complain. It seems they have become addicted to the negativity. You aren't obligated to be a fan of any program - if it truly brings you so much angst, there are other options.

Instead of constantly being miserable, you can stop being a fan of LSU. There are plenty of bandwagons to jump on, take this opportunity to find one. It will be good for you and the remaining fan base. Whatever your level of participation, booster, season ticket holder, etc., now would be an excellent time for you to storm out of the room in dramatic fashion.
re: Would fan base feel different if we had played McNeese and bowl was for W10?

depends. Does the extra 200 yards rushing get #7 the Heisman?
