The 3 games leading up to Bama, we averaged over 22 pass attempts for over 200 yards and 2 TDs. Facts don't jive with your post, but that's no surprise.

22 passes is only considered a lot in the eyes of an LSU fan. This running game would be wide open if Harris could complete 60% on 30 attempts.

730 yards and 5 or 6 TDs passing in the 3 games leading up to Bama.

In fact, the one reason I went into the Bama game with some confidence was that we finally--FINALLY--had developed a passing game.

The yards mostly came on big plays and the completion percentage was not great. We did very little over the middle or in the 10-20 yard range. We did not develop the passing game in a way that could move the ball down the field consistently. Our passing game hopes for a one-on-one with a receiver deep down field.

Why are LSU receivers never open? No matter who we play, a DB or two are all over whoever we throw the ball to? Yet, every other program we face consistently gets receivers wide open. It is because our passing game is terrible and it has been that way and everyone knows exactly what we are doing.

Those 3 games with 22 passing attempts and 200 yards were a mirage and you could see it while it was happening.

I think that Brandon Harris could be a good QB. But, they never want to run the risk of him throwing an intereception, so that passing game stays underdeveloped and good teams exploit that.

Did you actually watch those games? We literally pray we get someone open 50yds downfield and chuck it deep. We have no short to intermediate passing game what so ever. It's an elementery attack

LOL, if you react those games, there were a shite ton of bombs that fell into the right hands. We never developed the passing game. We got lucky on a few deep passes and thought we did.

22 passes, and how many runs? Probably 40 ish?

I bet it wasn't balanced like the OP suggested so his overriding point still holds.

I think you misunderstood the OP. His point was DEVELOPMENT. Which means how did we get here from there. So last examine, game #1, Moo St. LSU completed 9 passes out of 14. FOURTEEN:

Brandon Harris complete to Malachi Dupre for 2 yards
Brandon Harris complete to DeSean Smith for 23 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Malachi Dupre for 20 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for 2 yards
Brandon Harris complete to John Diarse for 9 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Colin Jeter for 2 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for 9 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for 4 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for no gain

Notice anything? Look closer? One more time?

56% of our passes were 4 yds or less. 4 YDS OR LESS 56%!! You might as well keep running at that rate. Theres no development of a passing game. Its "Lets pretend to pass, as long as we dont throw to anywhere it might get picked off"

OK, so maybe youre not convinced. Lets move on to game #2, Auburn. We completed 12 passes, out of 17. So in just two games LSU has thrown the ball 31 times. In 2 games

Brandon Harris complete to Leonard Fournette for 9 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for 5 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Derrius Guice for 6 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for 2 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Colin Jeter for 1 yard
Brandon Harris complete to Malachi Dupre for 8 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for 9 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Tyron Johnson for no gain
Brandon Harris complete to Travin Dural for 11 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Colin Jeter for 14 yards
Brandon Harris complete to John Diarse for 10 yards
Brandon Harris complete to Nick Brossette for loss of 1 yard

Now in our 2nd game, LSU once again throws 50% of its passes for less yardage that we could have run for. We are not passing the ball, we are just dumping the ball off. Just in hopes of keeping our opponents honest.

But most concerning, is we've now gone thru 2 SECw games and amassed 145 TOTAL yds in passing. 145!! Thats a little over 4 yards per attempt. 4 YARDS. Our rushing average is better than that

OP is right. LSU clearly DID NOT ATTEMPT to develop a passing game, not until it was too late. No development, no rhythm. No rhythm, no success
