And here is how ESPN spun it tonight...

Rece Davis "Before Nick Saban LSU had moments here and there but largely a slightly better than average program".
"you want to fire somebody fine. But the way they have left him twisting in the wind is nearly disgraceful".
Herbstreit 'I can't believe this is happening" 'Les still recruits" "maybe should find somebody to help us stay up with what's out there" and hire a new coordinator...
Pollock "part of me understands it" "the offense has been abysmal for a while now" "there have been coordinator shuffles over the last few years"
Herbstreit :"his clock management is part of his charm"
*concerning Rece-prior to 2000, cfbwarehouse says LSU had the 14th best program in cfb history. Not elite, but certainly more than "slightly better than average".
Concerning Herbstreit-it just demonstrates he views it from 30,000 feet as a non-fan would. Bad clock management is not charming. Just sayin.

You could find the same clock blunders with every coach

He wasn't serious when he said that. He laughed saying it.

Herbiee and ESPN are more concerned with having something goofy and fun to report on about the coach than they are LSU having a winning program.

Did you watch it? If so, did you feel like I did that the three of them were taking shots at the LSU administration?

Gumps only see gumpville. No respect for any other programs

Having that high of a history and none of the coaches had near success guy we are running out of town had. 14th best history and recruits ran out of the state before 2 coaches really locked them in
But hey anyone can win here

These guys are just talking heads filling air time.

Ive always thought Pollack had an anti-LSU bias. He is the only talking head tonight I have totally agreed with. He called the LSU job one of the top five in the country. He talked about how we have underperformed the past two years.

It's not just how we're getting treated by ESPN, it's the fact our athletic department was too stupid to realize this was what was going to happen.
The bayou is melting. Exactly how they should have anticipated. Now what's the backup plan?
Nothing? Then Alleva has to geaux.

Davis' comments reflect who he is--a Bammer grad.

Other than Pollack, this is about the only thing I agree with.
Weve had BOS members popping off to the media. Alleva leaking the story to Rabalais. This created a media firestorm and Alleva left Miles dangling.
Either keep the shite quiet or have the balls to sack up and do it. Gutless wonder Joe hasnt done either.

At the end of the day, all these people care about is ratings which = money. Finebaum said before LSU-Bama game that the gumps winning was better for his show because that drove ratings. Compared to 'bama, LSU does NOT drive ratings. Further, there can really be only one team from each conference in the discussion and, at that, one of so-called Power 5 will be left out of the CFP.
Miles is a nice side bar to what they do to drive their own ratings. He is entertainment and to that extent, they do not want him to leave. It is clear that Miles will provide no competition for Saban, so those truly interested in LSU football have decided to put an end to the current course of futility.
Maybe, just maybe, there are people involved with LSU football who want more than an annual loss to Saban in addition to 2 or more losses in the SEC West. Good for them. I would like to see LSU be on par with the best in the West and win the SEC from time to time.
Miles has had serious problems year in an year out that have never gotten better e.g. QB, offense, in game management etc.
Here's hoping that the 'corndog' munching ptb that is LSU football have gotten out ahead of this and will make the Tiger Nation proud. If the winning comes, then noting need further be said to or about the talking head experts.

As an Alabama fan, I appreciate your research and clarity regarding our program.

Pollock actually spoke the truth he said our offense has been horrible for the past several years, Miles has gotten new coordinators and he keeps running things his way. Bama ran off Shula who would have won 8-10 games per year but they wanted better. LSU has a right to demand excellence! I hate how the media acts like only Bama has the right to win championships.
