Can Star Wars TFA break opening weekend record without a summer month debut?

It seems like all of the record breaking openings are strategically placed in the summer months as the peak movie-attending season.

It's already sold 50 million in opening release presales on Thursday night. So I'd say yeah.

It can and it will. Look for the opening weekend to be well north of $200 million in the United States. I have seen some prognosticators predicting a $300 million opening domestic intake.

The two highest grossing movies by far were released in December. December movies do fantastic. It should have no problem at least beating Titanic.

I believe it will. It's the only thing showing that weekend at a couple theaters I checked.

I don't see non summer being an issue. It's already sold so many tickets, hype levels are unreal, and I don't know many other school districts but it comes out the day before I go on winter break from teaching.
Maybe it doesn't break the opening record, I think it does but I think it definitely becomes the highest grossing film by the end
