And this is why we feared a coaching change in 2015....

Feleipe Franks decommits amid coaching rumors
Les Miles and Cam Cameron went all in for this kid on the recruiting trail. If one or both are no longer here next year, I can hardly blame the kid for heading to Gainesville... this is true for all of the committed and remaining prospects from this class.
Then there's MIles's $15 million dollar buyout, or we can wait until January when it becomes $12.9 million and give the coaching staff absolutely no time to meet with players.... as well as the buyouts for assistants and possibly the buyout of the coach that we may bring in.
THIS is the decline of LSU football.

He was already leaning away before this.

He had been wavering actually. This was news shortly before the Alabama game when we were still undefeated.

He has been talking to Florida for weeks. Way before any of this ever started. All this about Miles getting fired was the final nail in the coffin but he was already debating going to Florida when we were undefeated.

Maybe he decommitted because les can't develop qbs and he doesn't want to come here like a laundry list of other high profile qbs and hand off 80% of the time and be put in a no win situation to only throw in obvious passing situations.
He will come back when the new coach is announced

Franks had been pondering a decommitment for a month, even before the problems started at LSU.
His reason? He was concerned about the passing game. And that was even when we were 7-0.

Just a way to make news and get more clicks and attention.
Franks was gone a couple weeks ago in large part because of our shite show offense.
If anything, a new coach may be able to get him back.

If anything, this should strengthen their resolve to make a change

Never let the facts get in the way of a good rant! I agree he was gone before the Coach Miles job saga. This is like Harris staying in Louisiana instead of moving to AL to play at AU.
Question is had Harris gone to AU would he look like he does now. Who knows, but I think he plays in a more comfortable offense and runs more which is his "dual threat" capability which makes him more dangerous than simply being a drop back and hand off QB.

One QB recruit is not worth keeping an incompetent coach. Sorry

Especially when that QB recruit doesn't fit anything that you do on offense.

Met, obj, hill, and Landry scored 17 on Bama and needed a miracle bomb to beat arky. But yeah, Franks was answer with this staff.
The SECW can not be won on talent alone, everyone stepped their game up.

FWIW I had a Florida fan tell me way back in the summer that they felt they could still get Franks on board based on FF's comments to McElwain. I dismissed it as typical message board talk at the time, but this clearly wasn't a new development.

Nope it's not a new development and was in the works for a while but the media and Miles fans will frame it to seem like the firing chatter led Franks to do this.
It had nothing to do with it.

No he wasn't. Sonny and Shea reported a month ago he and his family "had some questions." That was literally days after Miles asked for Cam's extension and it was denied. This decommitment is a direct product of coaching change, and people need to stop trying to sugar coat it.

He was always second fiddle to patterson.
Even when he was committed, LSU fans openly pined for patterson to come here. He didnt and LSU fans imploded, completely losing sight of the fact a QB was already committed here.
Now ask yourself, is that somewhere you wanna go play football?

I heard this as well long before miles or camerons seat was warm.
But OP and the other posi-tigers out in full force today painting the picture as an imminent disaster for getting rid of miles don't want to hear things that ruin their narrative.
