If Les is fired this year we will be raked over the coals. I just you guys are ready for that. The odds that we make the perfect hire and put all the pieces together next year are very slim. LF is gone after next year, so why not have Les see if he can take care of business one last year. If he does there's a good chance he retires and if he doesn't he'll be let go and we're really not any worse off.

I don't live or die by what ESPN or any other tv types say. Why should you?

I don't. But recruits are certainly affected.

I agree with this.

I'm fine with LSU moving on from Les this year. I just think it's funny that people think we will absolutely make a home run hire, keep guys like Wilson and Orgeron on staff, maintain our upcoming recruiting classes, and have a fantastic 2016 season.

When you fire your coach, that rarely ever means your program is immediately going to be successful and have fantastic seasons in the following couple years.

This is going to be an interesting few weeks.

Nah...

They've been saying he's on the "hot seat" for the last two years, and with the way things have gone lately, I think they will say that it needed to be done.

Hell, they're likely to say that they've been saying this for years now, and why hasn't it happened sooner.

The only thing I think we get killed on is the hire, so Joe better not frick it up.

I can see this happening. Keep Les one more year but with a new OC and special teams coach. It is going to be interesting for sure but a part of me says let's see what Les can do with next year's class of Juniors at the skill positions and a year more experience with our three freshman O linemen. Problem with this strategy is who are you going to get for just one year at OC?

I'm just saying, all the arguments about squandered talent, and everybody wants to throw away any continuity the program may have. It's not the answer this year. Next year, if we don't make the playoffs I am all for it.

If Nick Saban were 8-7 over 2 seasons at Bama he would be gone quickly and no one would ever question the decision.

Agree..

We live in a day and age where it is what have u done for me in the last 2 weeks.

Honestly our fan base is a joke and a shell of its former self. I am, for the first time in my life embarrassed to be a part of this fan base.

Les has been nothing but a pro. Sure he has had his bad moments, but so has this team! How the hell do u count every hold and false start penalty against the head coach?

Our QB thru for 320 yards and had a career high in completions... Still we crucify the guy who is bringing in the best recruiting class of his tenure.

Message boards and our young fan base can watch this program go into the toilet when we hire the Houston coach and ask our 5 star recruits to stay... Haha

What have you seen this year from the coaching staff that makes you think it will be that much better/different next year?

No reason to kill anymore time with Miles. He is done and it's time to move forward. Get a good coach in place and the team could be strong next year.

If that happened over the next 2 years, they'd still keep him. He's done too much and he revived what was nearly dead. Saban would have to go back to back 5-7 to be ousted. And every coordinator and concession stand worker would be cut before him, along the way.

I think we have to resign Cam for one more year unfortunately. Honestly, it's pretty evident that we are running Les' offense anyway, so what difference does it make?

Those damn young fans who do math. We are 8-7 in the last two SEC seasons and 13-10 in the last 3 seasons. If you don't understand how this is a decline, then I'm not sure you'll ever get it. Miles has this program headed in the wrong direction, period.

And yet you want to keep everything the same for another year?

You're kidding yourself. That is a VERY spoiled and entitled fanbase. They make ours look like child's play.

LSU is getting bad pub for its on field performances right now, so who cares of they take us over the coals?

CBS guys were straight up clowning on Miles and Cameron yesterday, and deservedly so.

Would you rather they talk shite about how shitty your coaching is, or how LSU wanted to part ways with Miles?

IMO, there's no bigger indictment on Miles than what people are saying about him on the field right now.

"getting ready to pull the trigger", i.e. another year for Miles can be more detrimental to recruiting than going ahead and doing it IF the replacement is right.

spend all of 2016 on the hot seat with Cam's contract up this year and who knows who else AND with Miles already having considered retirement after the 2016 season AND with the direction the team is going?

Risk vs Reward. The risk if everything stays the same for 2016 is being realized right now. Very little reward.

There is at least some possible upside in pulling the trigger now.
