Charlie Strong - Feldman claims the interest is legit. He is struggling to get things turned around at Texas and may not last past next year if he is back next season if he doesn't have a big season.
Mario Cristobal
Chuck Pagano
Butch Davis
They are in the process of putting together a list so this will take some time before an offer goes out.
I suspect South Carolina and VA Tech might make a hire before Miami.

Strong would be smart to leave Texas if he had another job offer

Strong would be wise to start looking, not enough progress and you know the new AD will want his own guy

i think he'd be out of a job at the end of the season if he hadn't beaten oklahoma.

Charlie would be a fool to leave UT. His buyout is too big. Walk away from around $15 million? Hell no.

He's a really good coach who walked into a nightmare situation: unmotivated and underdeveloped talent, the locker room is clearly a mess and he's getting the blame.
Given the chance to make similar money at Miami, he'd have access to talent and a clean slate.

Charlie has spent 17 years of his entire coaching career coaching within the state of Florida.
That is where his ties are at. If he feels more comfortable and confident coaching at Miami, then he should make the change.
He is 55 years old so he has some time to start over and try to win a national title at another school. But if he is going to make that change, he needs to do it soon.

that's the problem. Texas would likely let him walk with little to no buyout required from new school (they'd gladly hit reset), but no way Miami pays him "similar" money to what he's making at Texas. For that reason, he's most likely to keep after it there and either turn it around, or get fired and make $10M+ to walk away (to another job).

I have a friend who works at UT and I remember he told me years ago that the football player culture at UT was the worst he'd ever seen. My friend also worked at a few SEC schools. He said the players there were completely out of control under Mack Brown. So, I say that to say I do believe that Charlie Strong walked into a really bad situation at UT.

That's a damn near certainty. Unless they pull another OU game out their arse vs Texas Tech or Baylor they are about to go 4-8. The last time they won less than 4 games was 1956 which was the final year before Darrell Royal showed up. If they lose the last two as expected this will be only the 3rd 4 win or less season since that '56 year.

Strong would be a great hire for any of the Florida job opening . I would think he would be a great fit at Miami but can't see them paying him enough money.

Did Strong not like the oil wells they gave him.
