Just for curiosity, for those that don't wear them. what's the reason? I use a climber and go as high as 30 feet in sweet gum trees and calculated once that the harness only added about 3 minutes of extra time for my ascent, and I've never thought they were uncomfortable, so I have no idea why people don't. Not judging, just curious.

How's it any different from a seat belt? Do you drive with out it too?

Why should the government force people to wear harnesses? We've got enough petty laws to protect us from ourselves.

another obstacle. do you climb with out it attached? do you have to raise your thing on the tree every 2 ft? ain't nobody got time for that.

Takes about fifteen seconds to loosen the strap 12 inches, wiggle it up the tree (about 3-4 feet at a time), tighten it back down. So if I do that ten times during a climb then that's an extra 150 seconds, or 2.5 minutes. I'm gonna be there 3-4 hours so it's a small reduction in hunting time.

Promised myself after our first kid was born I'd always wear one. Never wore one or a seat belt for 15 years. I was stupid.

I have had 3 friends fall with serious consequences. Two suffered broke backs and one is paralyzed from the waste down. Selfish not to wear one.

Had a friend of my uncle went to his camp 2 days before everyone else was there.. Fell from his stand and broke his back, went 2 days before they found him still alive.. He said it was the scariest part of his life when coyotes were licking on him one night...

Sometimes the truth hurts, and sometimes stupidity kills.

Yeah, when they licked him enough so that he was good and cleaned up when they found him...

Just dogs probably. If he had written a note and stuck it in one of their collars he would've been found earlier I am sure.
