Exactly. They miss out on the first year of the playoff and people think the Big XII is screwing themselves.
Any potential additions won't necessarily add to the overall strength of the conference and a title game just gives a playoff contender a final opportunity to be upset. If their top teams would schedule better OOC, this conversation wouldn't be needed. Knee-jerk expansion at this point is silly.

indeed, Big12 was very, very close to having two teams in the playoff last year until the Ohio State late season surge.
if Wisconsin wins that game, Baylor and TCU are likely both in.

Only Baylor (and K state for the longest time until they played Auburn) has shite opponents.
OU has had FSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ohio State next year
Texas had Notre Dame, Cal and BYU. All respectable this year
Oklahoma State played Florida State last year
TCU has Arkansas and Ohio State on their schedule
Just to name a few.
