Cox does not do well with customer service.

Switched from DTV to COX as I already had internet. Main box goes out and needs to be reset almost every day. It will also lock up if you rewind a play too many times and will stop dvring shows randomly.
Call Cox, ask to bring the box in. They say "No, we have to send someone out". They say 10-12 Thursday.
Well now it's 1:15 and I haven't heard from anyone and have to go back to working. DTV when a box was bad they mailed you a new one, you set it up and they paid the return shipping on the old box. Cox won't even let me bring it to a center.
Still butt hurt over a technician picking up two old boxes from me and never logging the info. Had to dispute for four years before I finally caved in and paid the $500.

Even if DTV is a little more it's worth it. At least with DTV if you were unhappy they would give you free stuff. When you are unhappy on the phone with Cox they just put you on hold for the next person.

Never again... I will drink at a bar 2 days a week to watch LSU and the Saints before paying for any form of cable. I have internet only for $30 a month.

I like Cox. I have had a few issues with them in the past and called them. The issues were never resolved, but they were very polite and sent me a Cox baseball hat, keychain, and a bumper sticker too. Customer for life right here.

Uverse customer service has been light years ahead of anything I ever got from Cox. They may all suck, but Cox is the absolute worst in south LA.

This describes pretty much every cable company in existence. There really isn't anything worth watching on tv anymore so I don't see any need in having it.

I pay more for DTV just to spite Cox. I was so pissed off I vowed never to do business with them again. I don't even remember what the issue was but I sure as hell remember how pissed I was.

This reminds me of a time when my friend was moving and I told her not to get Cox because "Cox sucks," and then her two year old just repeated "Cox sucks Cox" all day. Oops.

That's your problem right there. NEVER call and ask to do anything. You'll just get to wait for a technician in 3-7 days if they can't fix it over the phone.
We've had boxes cause problems and I always just bring the box in to the store. They exchange it(usually with no questions). Now, I don't know how the contour boxes work so if it's one of those, maybe they have to come out then?

The lesson is simple. Never trust Cox to do things properly. We're so lucky to have Cox as the main cable provider.

Should have consulted with the OT before switching to Cox. You would have clearly seen that the majority of us fricking despise Cox.
