According to that article, Ritter's Crew throws a ridiculous amount more penalties on LSU than any other SEC refereeing Crew does!
quote:
The average SEC ref flags LSU 6.86 times for 56.63 yards, and has a penalty margin of 1.77-15.51. That's, as we've established above, the worst in the SEC. Ritter seemed to take that as a challenge and he flags LSU an average of 10.14 times for 81.86 yards at a ridiculous margin of 5.29-38.00.

Even if one was to become a ref, he would never be allowed to ref the Bama, LSU game. That weekend they would ship his arse off to ref Vandy, UK or some other bottom feeder game that week in the SEC.

You people are like 13 year olds with this incessant Ritter bullshite. Grow the frick up and take off your tin foil hats.
Amen!
Also, in the cherry picked still shot that gets posted here everyday of the Peterson/Jones play.... look at the video. Jones touches the ball first. Jones was out of bounds. Dead ball at that point, no matter that PP was inbounds or out. Gary Danielson's commentary incites us as LSU fans. The judgement was never about Peterson being in or out. It was a dead ball. Perhaps some of us should learn the rules. As well, Mr Danielson should too.

This board discusses a collegiate football team associated with an institution of higher learning. Starting a thread using incorrect English reflects poorly upon the University and its alumni.
Mistakes within the thread due to quick responses is one thing. Just take a few moments to proof read before you start a thread.

I call BS. We've had this discussion before that it is impossible for the general public to find out the officiating crew for any game prior to that game.

Bobby Moreau was an SEC official, but he's pushing 60 now - and I think he went out to ACC or Big East country. He was involved (as a side judge) in a very controversial call in a Florida-Tennessee game about 10 years ago.

If this is true...while I'm not surprised....you have got to be kidding me. It's like we "knew" it would happen, but had hoped against it. I wish we had a chart or breakdown of LSU penalties with Ritter's crew, and without Ritter's crew....also, when LSU is against Bama with SEC/National implications, or when LSU is against anyone that the outcome would impact Bama's SEC and National chances.

I really hope you aren't serious with this nonsense.

he seems to throw 1000 penalties against lsu but bama never seems to do anything wrong
Tom Ritter's Crew has officiated 4 LSU/Bama games since 2007
In those 4, the breakdown of penalties per team is:
Bama: 15
LSU: 31
HOWEVER... 14 of LSU 31 penalties came in the 2007 game. If you look at the last 3 LSU/Bama games his crew has officiated, the breakdown is:
Bama 13
LSU 17
Over 3 games, that not an outrageous discrepancy. Also, LSU is 2-2 in LSU/Bama games officiated by Ritter's crew. The 2 losses are 2009 and 2014.
In 2009 the infamous call was the Peterson non-INT. But that can be blamed on the replay official. In 2014 the penalty breakdown was 3-2 in FAVOR of LSU.
It is true that LSU is generally flagged more than the opponent when Ritter's crew calls the game. That said, there's only been 1 season in Les Mile's LSU tenure (2011) where LSU wasn't flagged more than their opponent. Ritter wasn't calling ALL of those games. Point being, LSU gets penalized by everyone. It's a systemic problem under Miles. Always has been. In his 10 years here, LSU has ranked on avg. somewhere around 75th in the nation in ppg. LSU is always a highly penalized team. It's just more apparent this season because they've already had at least 4 TD's wiped out because of penalties

quote:You are an idiot. The Ritter crew in 2011 against Bama was fantastic. The Reid INT play would have been called a Bama completion by 99% of officiating crews
You are blind. Even the most objective people can see Ritter is biased. It's borderline ridiculous

It has nothing to do with the total amount of penalties. It is the timeliness of them. Last year is a perfect example.

quote:bullshite. In the 9-6 game, all he has to do is call the deep pass that Reid intercepted a completion and Bama wins the game, and not a single person blames the refs because the play was that close. Instead, the crew makes a phenomenal call of int that helps LSU win the game.

Ye, that one play really makes up for all the bullshite. What were they going to do, frick us on an INT review twice?
